In 12 Rules for Life, clinical psychologist and celebrated professor at Harvard and the University of Toronto Dr. Jordan B. Peterson helped millions impose order on the chaos of their lives. Now, in this bold sequel, Peterson delivers 12 more lifesaving principles for resisting the exhausting toll that our desire to order the world inevitably takes. In a time when the human will increasingly imposes itself over every sphere of life - from our social structures to our emotional states - Peterson warns that too much security is dangerous.

this! Ever since I was a youngster, I was fascinated with knights, kings and queens and of course like, the rest of midieval history. This is the 4th book I've read either written or narrated by Dorsey Armstrong! I very much appreciate her hard work and look forward to more! There's so much to learn in this book that I had not even a clue about after putting 3 years of straight nothing but education on midieval history and culture. I love this stuff 😍😍😍

Brunhild was a foreign princess, raised to be married off for the sake of alliance-building. Her sister-in-law Fredegund started out as a lowly palace slave. And yet - in sixth-century Merovingian France, where women were excluded from noble succession and royal politics was a blood sport - these two iron-willed strategists reigned over vast realms, changing the face of Europe.

is like the 50th book ive read in the past year and a half, of midieval history and not going to lie! I loved it. Its all absolutely fascinating to me. I believe this book needs to be turned into another historical based tv series. These two women deserve to be highlighted in the modern craze of midieval shows and dramas. Brunhilda's marriage to her demise being the beginning and end of the show. I would put this as a must read for those, like me, whom are just in love with learning and reading deep into the history of all of our ancestors and greats of the past! I cannot say it enough, I loved listening to this book! I will be buying a tangible copy as well! MAJOR KUDOS to Shelley Puhak for this masterpiece 👏

Awesome look into the intellectual miedieval folks! Inspiration is a chain reaction cycle kind of thing in my mind that just keeps going and going and going and though I have no great and almighty achievements I'm my life time yet, I feel I'm inspired by just reading about some of these great people of the past who kept the cycle going! Always a perk to have Dorsey reading her work as well! Huge fan and also share the opinion of solely being interested in only midieval... anything.. honestly! Love it, huge fan!

I loved this book! I would say this one has tidbits of all the Great Courses books I've listened to, instead of focusing on one area in the midieval world, it focuses on how it was in most of the world based on the ongoing research and ever faithfully evolving evidence that shows up daily almost from the Era. I am just fascinated by this Era of our world. Drawn in. Thanks to the great courses I've also begun to broaden my intelligence on world history as well as gained interest in finding out more. You can never stop learning and I intend to continue until my brain fails me. I love all these fact-filled adventures into the history of humankind ❤ For those interested in world studies and history as well as just interested in how the culture you live in came to be, but cannot afford to be a scholar in a school, I would recommend any of the Great Courses books on whatever they offer that you're interested in learning about because they cover absolutely everything.

Story
What is so important about the year 1215? There are some history buffs who may be able to tell you that 1215 is the year the Magna Carta was signed, but there are even fewer who know that King John of England’s acceptance of this charter was only one of four major, world-changing events of this significant year. In fact, the social, cultural, political, geographical, and religious shifts that occurred in this year alone had such a huge impact on the entire world, it warrants an entire course of study for anyone truly interested in the pivotal points of history....

Story
I’ve been in this life for fifty years, been trying to work out its riddle for forty-two, and been keeping diaries of clues to that riddle for the last thirty-five. Notes about successes and failures, joys and sorrows, things that made me marvel, and things that made me laugh out loud. How to be fair. How to have less stress. How to have fun. How to hurt people less. How to get hurt less. How to be a good man. How to have meaning in life. How to be more me. Recently, I worked up the courage to sit down with those diaries.

This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death. And here is the bleak new world of the day after: a world stripped of its institutions and emptied of 99 percent of its people. A world in which a handful of panicky survivors choose sides - or are chosen.
