Learn from lessons from the past. Great narration!

This book tells a story of lessons that can be learned from examples of things that have happened in history. All of the lessons revolve around a theme of what you should and shouldn't do to put yourself in the best position for power. A little philosophical, but if you enjoy philosophy you will like that piece of it. You don't have to have ambitions of being a power monger to get a lot out of this book. It may make you re-think how you approach things on a day to day basis. It's a little long, but it found it to be engaging and enjoyable the whole way thru.

I Feel So Powerful Now

My god, I can do anything. I just left my wife and had my boss give me a raise. I'm telling you, the instructions in this book work.

con man's guide book

I have no idea how I came to have this in my library. I hope it was free. I am a fan of empowering oneself. I am not a fan of exercising power over others. This is the con man's user manual. And yet I saw many characteristics of human nature from the examples of power in the con man and the one conned. The historical examples were actually a little sickening. And also the disheartening examples of the human nature were telling.
I can't say I like the book but there's lots of evidence of reality in the book so it can warrant the listen. In fact some things in the behavior and reactions I've seen in people make more sense now.

Cynical but eye opening book

This book starts out in a quite cynical tone and keeps in it throughout. BUT - there are very good insights into what some people (including me and most probably you) do in everyday life and what effect does it in fact have on other people. There is a lot anyone can use to benefit his life but also quite a lot of practices used in con schemes (from the con artist point of view) if you do not want to become one, you can still educate yourself not to fall into the trap.
I would definitely recommend it although not to take it literally as some reviewers apparently did. You can keep your moral principles and greatly benefit from this book all the same.

Entertaining. Well developed outline of content.

Good information. Most enjoyable is the stories, anecdotes, and historical relevant events. To make these laws stick better I went back through and made a summary "cheat sheet" of all 48.

Well worth the listen; interesting and informative

I love The Art of War. I consider this to be a worthy expansion on its ideals on multiple fronts from the battlefield, to politics, to the bedroom.

You'll be poorer for not heeding the lessons learned from the games of power we all play.
