Story
Modern culture is increasingly outspoken against a biblical understanding of what it means to be a woman. Even some Christians, swayed by the LGBTQ+ movement, have rejected God’s word on issues of sexuality and gender in favor of popular opinion. In light of these pressures, it’s more important than ever to help women see the truth about who God created them to be. In this powerful book, Rosaria Butterfield uses Scripture to confront 5 common lies about sexuality, faith, feminism, gender roles, and modesty often promoted in our secular culture today.

God can change the heart of anyone who chooses to seek Him

This was an amazing book that was both informative regarding the common lies that are told today in our churches and communities as well as helpful in its insights PLUS a wonderful story of the authors journey to faith. As a man I was struck by the importance of God’s role for men and women and how the creator of all mankind has a plan for each individual that intimately intertwine with their biological sex. Feminism has now destroyed the very people i.e. women, that it fought so hard to raise to the top and even more so with the onset of transgenderism where feminist cannot even define what a woman is nor do they choose to support women athletes struggle against the transgender movement. One thing is evident also as I read this book and that is that evil is alive and well and that we ignore Satan and his attack on us and our children at our own peril, it’s only through faithful devotion to God through reading the Bible and praying that we have any hope as human beings of living a meaningful life on this planet for the wisp of time that we are here. The analogy of being hooked to Adams belt and then when we become saved being unhooked by the Holy Spirit and hooked to Jesus on his belt is a powerful visual. Being hooked as if we are on a hook on Adam’s belt makes me think that we as humans, despite the fact that the hook is painful, choose to paint the hook to make it look nice, choose to build a house on the hook, choose to put two cars on the hook with us, all of which creates more pain for us and yet it’s so ingrained as Americans that this is the American dream when in essence it’s just the hook that brings us that much further away from Jesus and closer to the pit of fire. This is one of those books you have to read over and over again to truly capture all it has to offer.

Scary, but true

This is a wonderful book to help not just Christians but all who wonder what has happened to America and don’t like what they see or buy the politician’s or the media’s take on it all.
Christians are called to repentance and a continuation in the call to spread to Gospel despite the cost. The whole book was worth listening to and the chapter on Sexualizing our Children was very disturbing and speaks to the fact that EVIL still exists and how people are so easily deceived. Another common theme is that of Socialism and Marxism and how they have been romanticized for our younger generations. This also is very disturbing not only because of the devastation of these policies that led to millions of people suffering and being murdered in Communist countries who tried this Atheistic form of government with the naivety of a toddler but that our public schools have continued for the most part to neglect teaching our children History in favor of ridiculous social policy issues. Couple all this with Social Media and mindless electronic use and there is no wonder why the USA has forfeited its wonderful patriotic history for Anti Christian worship and victimhood.
Ultimately there is only one hope and that is faith in Jesus Christ. We should love others enough to share our faith even when there is a cost to us.
