Detective Claudia Martinez feels eyes on her - often. Though she tries to convince herself that it’s all in her head and no one is really in the shadows lurking… waiting… watching… But once dismembered body parts are discovered on display in highly visible inner-city locations, Claudia begins to worry that someone IS stalking her cases and murdering the people affiliated with them.

I've never read any of J.R. Mason's novels before, so I didn't know what to expect from "Stolen Pieces Book 1." I certainly didn't expect a thriller that would have me holding my breath and shaking my head throughout the entire book. I am impressed and think I might have found a new favorite author. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, and I highly recommend listening to this audiobook.

I am exploring the world of romance books, trying to figure out what I like and don't like. One book that I found highly enjoyable is "Recipe for Disaster 2: Diluted" by Montoya Epperson.
I was excited to read this book after hearing so much hype about it, but also nervous that I might not enjoy it as much as the first book. However, I was completely mesmerized by the love story between Jasper and David. It made me wonder what love truly means.
If you're looking for a romance novel that is more than just a typical Hallmark story, I highly recommend this series. The book ends on a cliffhanger, and I can't wait to read the next one!
I listened to the audiobook version and found the female narrator's voice grew on me as the story progressed.

I truly loved every page of this book. Jacob, on his death bed alone and left with his thoughts and regrets, writes letters to his son Issac explaining his history as a child, a husband, a brother, a father, and a son.
As the letters are written over months, Jacob expresses remorse for his failure as a father, a husband, and a man.
This is a love letter I will never forget.

When I think of the genre romance, I usually roll my eyes and walk on by. Author Robin Baskerville Hearon Seasons (part 1) was not your typical “romance” I would call it more of a Melodrama because of the author's play on the readers' emotions with the different characters.
The story has excellent character development of Art the Millionaire, Leilani the Chef, and Veronica the Business Finance Manager. Their lives intertwine and beginnings with a beautiful friendship and unexpected twist.
If you are looking for a fast-paced short read to possibly get you over the reading block, a quick read so you can meet your monthly reading goal, or simply in the mood to enjoy something different, check out Seasons.
I listened to the audiobook and have to give a massive shootout to the narrator. Her voice helped set the scene. Leilani's character annoyed me, and her pitch with Leilani character was perfectly done for me to roll my eyes. 😬
I am looking forward to finishing this Seasons Trilogy
