Narration quality is significantly improved over the previous 2 books. Story is adequate. Maine character continues down the emo rage path.

Story
People always seem to talk about fate like a benevolent, guiding force that one can put their trust in. Those people clearly haven't been dragged through multiple lives without a choice. Fate is the reason Lux finds himself in the back of a prisoner wagon, after being forced to choose between Lia's life or his freedom. Destined for the capital city Yoria and a trial before the king, Lux is ready for his life to be thrown back into turmoil once again. But fate, as always, has other plans for him.

Story quality is improved vs the first book. Audio quality is also improved greatly vs book 1. It still contains some breathing and popping sound issues. I suspect a pop filter was not used.

Story
All of the stories you've heard are wrong. They always tell you that starting a new life in a fantasy world is an amazing experience, full of magic, adventure, and true love...but they never tell you what happens when it's over. They don't tell you that it just happens again. And again. By the time you start your third new life in a row, all of that initial amazement wears off. That's where Lux finds himself now: dropped into yet another fantasy world, forced to restart his life all over again. He wants nothing more than to disappear...but it seems the world has other plans for him.

Ok story, ok narration, lackluster editing
Reviewed: 06-07-24
The story is ok. Many of the interactions feel unnatural. Premise is decent. Narrator and editing have some issues in regard to very noticeable inhalations which could have been handled with equipment like a pop filter or by post editing. Once you noticed the breathing it becomes hard not to hear ot.

All the world's a stage...even when you're teleported to a new world. Struggling actress Cara O'Sullivan was walking down the street of Galway one moment, and the next, she was in an ancient tomb in a faraway world. Alone in the dark with her cell phone as her last tenuous connection to home, Cara sings her favorite song. To her astonishment, her song casts a spell of light into the world...and from the depths, something hears her. Challenged by a ghostly knight, a tragic necromancer, and hordes of undead, can a young woman who does not believe in heroes become one herself?

Story
Dorky, socially awkward entomology student Evelyn wakes up one morning to find herself as some sort of alien-human hybrid trapped on an unknown planet. Once the initial panic winds down, she quickly learns she's capable of producing more of herself: additional bodies all sharing one mind. Being well-versed in sci-fi tropes, she quickly resolves to not devour the planet and turn into an unflinching biological armada, and instead uses her new powers to try and help as many people as possible. Unfortunately, it turns out that helping people is often very, very difficult.

Wholesome… too many abbreviations…
Reviewed: 07-21-23
First and foremost, the abbreviations are annoying. The world as a whole needs to cut it out.
Over all decent book and good performance, I don’t see this as having anywhere good to go if continued. I hope the author ensures they have a compelling idea before trying to invest more into this concept.

Story
The life of a giant bee is a simple one. The life of a giant bee when her queen turns the entire hive into human-like apis to fend off an attack? That’s a good deal more complicated. Getting down from a 50-foot giant rose without wings while surviving the attacks of malevolent wasps is just a start. Surviving long enough to figure out what to do with her new life proves to be something of a challenge, but at least that much is understandable. Of course, that’s when she gets sucked into the tangled web of an ambitious demon lord who’s threatening to plunge the world into a war.

Wholesome

Very wholesome story. None of the characters are overpowered, just lucky with overconfident enemies.
I either missed it or they didn’t clearly explain proportions of the new species vs others. It becomes clear over time. Just one very large rose in the beginning I guess.

Would not have gotten this if not for work

This book is very dry. Content within is valid if you can get past the name dropping.
Intro comes off a little stalkery, and discussions at the end about “coach” get a little crass.

They performance is fantastic and overall makes this worth a listen. The overarching story was good, but I have some issues with the writing. It really felt as if they had been building up drama and possible double cross only to wave it away in a single page.

Story
An existence spent being forced to kill others to satiate a Monster. Where the only thing to look forward to was the blessed, if brief, period of time between paying that bribe. Except that very same Monster is and isn’t Rene. It just happened to live inside his own mind and force him to do what it wanted. Rather than being an actual Monster. That was Rene’s entire life until a fateful day changed that. A day that the career as a hitman for hire built on the Monster’s needs will end. Where Rene will be forced to atone for his actions. To be held accountable and judged.
