a little boring, it moved to fast, and I'm not sure really what happened. This girl was pretty naive for and FBI agent. That's about all I can say, I'm still asking myself if the book is really over and I can't remember the names of the main characters to save my life.

This book is whst I've been looking for, it's perfect for a relaxing listen, however: the ending was a little disappointing, not a bad ending, just thought it was be a little different. The twist and turns were enough that I thought I had the ending figured out, only to be terribly wrong!!

This was a short fiction, very fiction love story. I've been listening to some real intense books so American Star was a refreshing listen. No real plot and seemed to move along rather quickly, not totally disappointed, the narration was pretty good. I needed an easy listen, that being said, American Star served its purpose.

In 1942, the Allies were losing, Germany seemed unstoppable, and every able man in England was on the front lines. To "set Europe ablaze," in the words of Winston Churchill, the Special Operations Executive (SOE), whose spies were trained in everything from demolition to sharpshooting, was forced to do something unprecedented: recruit women. Thirty-nine answered the call, leaving their lives and families to become saboteurs in France.

I only write reviews if a book is marvelous, however: I will make an exception....The narrator needs to find another career. I felt like I was in school and my teacher was reading out of my history book. Normally I am very patient with story lines and narrators, but in this case I've tried to listen 4-5xs and I just can't do it. I am 2hrs in and I can't even tell you what this book is about. I've never been this disappointed with an audible book. I do a lot of research before buying a book, when I purchase a book I want it to be semi interesting, I can not find anything good about D-Day Girls. Take my advise from a 5yr audible member choose another book!!!

Normally I read or listen to mystery or suspense romance books, my previous book lists tend to be a little "dark" which seemed to put me in a dark mood especially during covid-19. While looking for a different style of book I came across "Make Mine Magic" I wasn't disappointed in my choice but it was pretty basic, not exactly boring but seemed as though a younger crowd would enjoy the somewhat simple story line. The plot was interesting but seemed rather infantile for my taste. I did enjoy it in a relaxing way. My brain was not racing ahead trying to predict the ending. It gave me a break from the recent Steven King and Gershwin books that I have been listening to. I think a teen or tween would enjoy this read, it was not vaguer or distasteful, it was not bad just a little soft for me!!
