If you like mental thrillers with unexpected twist & turns, you might just really enjoy this book. The narrator does a excellent job, she told the tell as if she had experience it firsthand. The narrator was also on point with changing her voice for each of the characters. I found myself listening intentionally a few times questioning if it was the same person speaking. ENJOY

I've read the phrase, ".....with an ending/twist you won't see coming" on the covers of about 500 books. Of the ones I've read, I saw the twist coming about eighty-five percent of the time. No such claims on this gem, but, holy cow, was I shocked!!! This story is unique in that it encompasses the crimes, investigation, and trial without the feeling that the story had to be rushed - or worse - squashed toward the end with an unsatisfying conclusion. The plot is so well-developed, and Mr. Methos knows his stuff, making the characters jump to life. Splendid narration caps off one of the best books of this genre that I've ever listened to.

I had difficulty getting into this book.
Once again I was thinking maybe. Starts out slowly and easy, then pace picks up. I tried to put it down but kept coming back to the story. In the end I was just surprised!! I recommend this book. Enjoy.

This is a tragic story that drags you into a good person's life. She's been hurt and things could get much worse. To keep that from happening, she's compelled to start peeling back layers of hurt. Clearly, she does not want to take such an active role in the investigation phase. She's afraid for what might come of it, but she's also curious enough to risk it.

I never re read a novel. But this one compelled me to re read the ending. Not sure why.

Many of my reviews get dinged with only three or four stars because of narration; please, don't allow that to discourage you from purchasing this Audiobook! Very few listens get raving reviews from me for the narration; believe that. Most all fiction loses something with an external narrator; they can rarely live up to our own imaginations internal narrative voice we assign characters while reading; picturing our own personal interpretation of the protagonists, supporting characters and villains! So, with that said; four stars is a very high mark from the likes of me to be sure! That also speaks well of the story itself- no matter how good a narrator is, they can never make up for poorly writen work or just a bad story all together! This story is both well written and an excellent story! Surprisingly it is also my very fist read/listen of the well known bestselling author having me regret waiting as long as I did to sample it. Definently took me by surprise; I actually listened to this fast paced , intelligent thriller in one day; completely unable to put it away other than pausing! Im sure alot of it has to do with the work being unfamiliar and fresh to me; however, that alone can not propel me so deep into a story! The read has to be altogether worthy of that kind of persistent attention making the turning of pages, the evaporation of every chapter unnoticeable in every way! Though the ending wasn't a complete mindblowing, breathless, OMG climax, it was well worth the time, very satisfying indeed! My personal grades: Author A- : Story A- : Narrator B to B+, A reread? Definently! In fact I have it on Kindle to read after I've listened to some others so to assign my own voice to the narrative having the original narrator clear of my thoughts while rereading! Enjoy!
