Story
Frey is the captain of the Ketty Jay, leader of a small and highly dysfunctional band of layabouts. An inveterate womaniser and rogue, he and his gang make a living on the wrong side of the law, avoiding the heavily armed flying frigates of the Coalition Navy. With their trio of ragged fighter craft, they run contraband, rob airships, and generally make a nuisance of themselves. So a hot tip on a cargo freighter loaded with valuables seems like a great prospect for an easy heist and a fast buck. Until the heist goes wrong, and the freighter explodes.

Good - But not great

The story and characters are pretty one dimensional, but entertaining.
The idea of a hidden pirate city/base is fun, I wish they
would have spent more time “walking the streets” of
the place.
The jilted lover story is a bit tiresome, and has been
done a million times before.

Good premise,…with giant bugs, treachery, and steam punk machines…
My only complaint is that it was “YA”.
Nothing more an a kiss in the entire novel, and too much true love BS.
I will try the next book, and see if it matures.

Good story- a bit over the top on the carnage

Loved the story….
Probably mostly true….
I have a hard time believing he saw all the human body carnage that he discusses….
There are human body parts flying in almost every paragraph of this story….
No way he could roll the dice that many times, and not have some of his body parts join the flight.

I liked this 2nd addition, but found it not as good as the original one.
My issue is that everything seems to come up ‘roses’ for her.
She has the administrative girl from the bikers, she goes to
another junkyard that just happens to have every pc of weapon and
suit armor she needs, and most damning, her whole crew kills
100’s and she does not lose anyone close.
You can’t keep rolling 7’s and 11’s…….
You have to show your hero lose a few battles and people to

No one of importance ever does in this series, and it is starting to get a bit comical to me.
The Department of the Interior is starting to look like a pack of Stormtroopers, who are there just for fodder.
Way too much mind numbing Badel stuff in this one.
The Clutch and Theo were the highlights,
I give the book a C+ rating at best.
