About the Creator

Faith Hunter is the award-winning New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of three series: the Jane Yellowrock series, the Soulwood series, and the Rogue Mage series (all available on Audible). In addition, she has edited two anthologies set in the RM world and coauthored the Rogue Mage RPG. She is the coauthor and author of 16 thrillers under pen names Gary Hunter and Gwen Hunter. She sold her first book in 1989 and hasn’t stopped writing since. Altogether she has 40+ books and dozens of short stories in print and is always juggling multiple projects. Faith collects orchids and animal skulls, loves thunder storms, and writes. She likes to cook soup, bake bread, garden, and kayak Class III whitewater rivers. She makes jewelry and drinks a lot of tea. Some days she’s a lady. Some days she ain't.

About the Performer

Khristine Hvam is an award-winning audiobook narrator, producer, and director. Some of her works include TV/radio commercials, video games, animated series, and most notably, more than 300 audiobook titles. The sequel to Junkyard Cats is full of the same complex, unpredictable action and interactions that made the first book so enjoyable. This is not formulaic! New characters, locales and events advance Shining's story as we delve into her past and her reservations with what she has become.

This series is creative and dark, an exploration of what could well happen if we don’t get our greed and warlike stupidity under control. Better yet, it gains depth and complexity as it goes. I can’t wait to see what she does with it next.

Really enjoyed the first part of the story, Junkyard Cats, and the world it creates. Junkyard Bargain continues the story, not surpassing the first novel, but leaving you craving more. I will certainly keep an eye out for more books from this series.

I have read most of Faith Hunter's Skinwalker series, and for the most part, liked it. So I was happy to see a new series, especially since it was included in the Plus catalog. I read the first, but not with a lot of attention -- I"m ADHD -- so listened again, then again, getting a little more each time.

Then the second came out!! Woot woot. I dropped what I was reading -- or re-reading -- and curled up to hear this new story. And then again. I like it. More backstory this time, good character development. Good new characters. I have to admit I want Cupcake to be my neighbor, but you can keep the guys. They are too generic. Are there no men out there who aren't tall, incredibly hot and sexy, available, and killer shots. Come on. You can do better. My man is tall, and okay looking, at our age not exactly chasing me around the bed 3 times a night, not available and I wouldn't trust him with a machete, much less a high-tech killing machine. That's okay. I get to be the strong one. Try it sometime. It is fun.

This is a great start to a fun series.
