Nice story, kept my attention. The vocal performance was done very well. The ending was a little too neatly wrapped up so everything and everybody had a happy ending. I kind of lost interest then.

Happy that Katie chose to narrate the audio book. It really was a wonderful book. I have suggested it to several other friends.

Difficult to follow the story. One time frame blended woven into another and had great difficulty figuring out what was happening to whom, which wife belonged to which brother.

I wasted my time listening to this garbled up story. Too crazy to be able to imagine while listening. Got weirder and weirder.

Written in a way that was confusing and so very unbelievable that it was terribly difficult to listen until the end. The readers of the audible book were fine, the story was a mess

Loved how the author had his audience rolling with laughter and a minute later we felt the lumps in our throats and tears welling up in our eyes. This guy is the best story teller I have heard in years. Leaves you wanting more!!

I loved the insight this author developed about childhood trauma, the search for his own manhood the revelations along the way of feeling so different and out of place and eventual acceptance into a brotherhood of men. I would and have encouraged others to enjoy this audio. Loved having the author read his own work. Felt like he was personally sharing his experiences with me. Will watch for more by this author.

Wonderful account of sexual assault and coverups. Sometimes the story was a bit difficult to follow as it skipped from childhood to adulthood back to childhood. Overall a great read.

Just loved her writing. Saw much of Lisa’s fathers characteristics in my own father/daughter relationship. The longing for evidence of acceptance, love and feeling needed, but, never able to achieve. This woman is my soul sister.

Sadly, society still lacks basic human acceptance of one another because of the mere color of ones skin tone. This story is relevant for today’s continued ache for equality for all.
