Story
Stephanie Plum, Trenton’s hardest working, most underappreciated bounty hunter, is offered an assignment that seems simple enough. Local jeweler Martin Rabner wants her to locate his former security guard, Andy Manley (a.k.a. Nutsy), who he is convinced stole a fortune in diamonds from his safe. Stephanie is also looking for another troubled man, Duncan Dugan, a fugitive from justice arrested for robbing the same jewelry store on the same day.

So special that ALL OF THE Stephanie Plum books are fantastic. I'm going back to the early ones and starting all over again. Lorelei, you have created these characters beyond the book. I look for books that you narrate! Thank you!!!!

Nicely rolls out at a good pace. The capsulated vignette of 911 was nicely done but didn’t take over the story. Very enjoyable listen. The narration was just right.

What happened to Valentine?
Reviewed: 10-16-20
First, I want to say how much I LOVED books 1 and 2. The 3rd book drastically changed the depth of characters and their relationships with one another. I understand how challenging it is to change the narrator on the third book in a trilogy. I listened to all three one right after the other. My biggest disappointment is the change in character of Valentine. In the third book she was a selfish, insecure, narcissist with a whiny backbone. Nut job. The first two books portrayed Valentine as a sensitive, inquisitive, explorer of her own life without trampling over her man. Poor John seemed to morph into a spineless, love struck, calculating man. The ending could be cut in half.

Really enjoyed story, narration, and pace. I lived in LA and spent a lot of time in Monterey. So, it was great for me to ‘picture’ the story in my head. Just a great listen!
