'C'era una volta... - Un re! - diranno subito i miei piccoli lettori. No ragazzi avete sbagliato.

This is a very interesting book connecting the present with events like Vige from movie number one and the eaner from Star Trek Enterprise. Robert Petkoff is unbelievably good at imitating the voices of the cast from the original series. I will buy more books narrated by him.

Story
The final frontier erupts into chaos as vast quantities of a rare energy source are discovered beneath the surface of Baldur-3, a remote planet beyond the outer fringes of Federation space. Now, an old-fashioned “gold rush” is underway as a flood of would-be prospectors, from countless worlds and species, races toward the planet to stake their claim. Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the Starship Enterprise are dispatched to deal with the escalating crisis...which lies on the other side of a famously perilous region of space known as the Antares Maelstrom.

Michele goes well into her childhood and into what happened before, during and after Barack was elected describing why things were done that way and carrying the right amount of emotions along the path.

But the reality is she's drowning in debt, has no prospects, and is forced to move back to Queens, where her parents remind her daily that they are very interested in grandchildren. Then, one morning, she is kidnapped, interviewed, and hired as an administrative assistant by the Corporation for UltraHuman Protection. Superheroes for hire, using their powers for good. A Normal Life in an Abnormal World

Interesting parody
Reviewed: 07-03-20
This book is written in a futuristic key and it depicts the US society: you cannot tell one of your colleagues that they look nice today, because that is sexual harassment but you are allowed to carry whatever weapon you will; there is a waiver for everything you do otherwise a legal sue will follow; and more of these. However the book is sometimes slow and, honestly, not the best I've come across. The narrator is quite good though.

Story
A haunting recollection of a mysterious boyhood event, The Man in the Black Suit leads off this masterful collection from Stephen King. Other dark tales include: All That You Love Will Be Carried Away, in which a man checks into a Lincoln, Nebraska Motel 6 to find the meaning in his life; That Feeling, You Can Only Say What It Is in French, presents the ultimate case of deja vu; and The Death of Jack Hamilton, a blistering tale of Depression-era outlaws on the run.

Nice collection

The first short-novel is really nice and I would say in King's classical style. The second is slightly lower in quality, but still nice.. The third is probably nice, but the narrator was so flat that I had to stop the listening twice. The forth and last short-novel is again nice. All in all an ok book that would have been much nicer with another narrator for the third one.

Fantasy, magic and dragons
Reviewed: 06-15-20
I chose this book primarily because it deals with dragon and magic and because the narrator is Scottish and gave the whole story a very special and charismatic touch. The book is nice, but a bit too slow in some parts: I would have preferred a bit more about the characters themselves, but all in all a nice story to hear.

1154: After years of manipulation and political cunning, young Henry II accedes to the throne of England, with Eleanor of Aquitaine by his side. But the kingdom he inherits is an impoverished shambles after the long, troubled reign of Stephen the Usurper. Henry appoints Thomas Becket, the unordained Archdeacon of Canterbury, as Chancellor. In a dance of scheming, vengeance and forbidden passions, during one of the most turbulent and compelling periods of English history, Henry, Eleanor and Becket fight for political power and control against forces seen and imagined.

Nice historical atmosphere
Reviewed: 05-27-20
In this second book we continue to follow the adventures and misadventures of Henry Plantagenet. The rhythm is really nice and Colin Morgan narrates the story majestically performing various voices and acting all the way through. The author is quite good at rendering the atmosphere of this late middle age period, and gives the story one extra gear.
I am now looking forward to read the third and last book of the trilogy.
