Historic Novel with a different twist. Likable characters and one very detestable one. Surprising end.

Story
Young playwright Melina Green has just written a new work inspired by the life of her Elizabethan ancestor Emilia Bassano. But seeing it performed is unlikely, in a theater world where the playing field isn’t level for women. As Melina wonders if she dares risk failure again, her best friend takes the decision out of her hands and submits the play to a festival under a male pseudonym.

Great story in the 1500’s! Totally trite in the 2020’s.

Very interesting and informative regarding Shakespeare’s life. Really enjoyed the story about Emilia Bassano.
However, the book was less interesting in modern times and seemed very trite.

How surprisingly unoriginal it was. It is nothing like the earlier Gabriel Allon books

Redundant and boring. No character development. Nothing like the earlier books. They have lost their excitement. Wont listen to any mire

This series is always enjoyable but this latest book is very predictable. There was virtually no character development or surprises.
