Story
When Gabrielle Solomon falls, she falls hard. Even if that means literally toppling over a porch railing in nothing but a flimsy towel—right in front of her sexy new neighbor. Jay Stetson is 100 percent hero material with those arms, that chest, and his deliciously oh-so-sexy smirk. The chiseled hunk in flannel has an irresistible off-limits attitude while plucking Gabrielle out of the bushes and saving her from a snake. Unfortunately, he’s not indulging in what Gabrielle is offering—not with his emotional train wreck of a past.

So Realistic; LOVED Narrators
Reviewed: 12-26-24
I enjoyed the realism Jay and Gabrielle brought to this HEA. It felt incredibly authentic and even having less smexy scenes the story was quite enjoyable. It's fast paced, almost feels like a novella read. Other supporting stories added to the storyline without taking away. Quite a bit of internal repetitive dialogue but it was how we recall dialogue in real life. Replaying conversations to make sense of it all. It was a good book! Absolutely loved the narrators and the life breathed into this story and the characters. I do believe they made me love this book even more.

Story
Salome knows only one way to live - under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune she calls home, Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence - the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery. A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free. Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.

…like lots of our memoirs. I’m do used to reading HEA that when this ended I was like wait what?! But I sat with it for a bit & thought hmmm isn’t this typically how it turns out?! So I kinda hate it! Lol!! No, seriously, it’s authentic and why I love HEA bec I don’t read for authentic but for the make believe. Thank you Shen for reminding me of that.

So glad Brit was able to share her story and hopefully get the vindication she’s long overdue. While she may not be the most stable she at least deserves better by those around her… and of herself

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

What a Memoir
Reviewed: 01-11-23
I didn’t make it to chapter 4 before tears began to fall. It’s not a compelling story; it’s a true story. It’s not an attempt to tell a side; it’s sharing of reality. It’s as heartbreaking as it is hopeful. It’s the future we all hoped to have see Princess Diana get to live but unfortunately didn’t. I’m often amazed at why people dislike Harry and Meghan solely based on baseless tabloid fodder. Here you have a vulnerable man sharing the reality of his life from birth and still he’ll be ridiculed and seen as ungrateful. This is hands down the best memoir I’ve ever read. I started with tears and I ended with tears. I pray they are able to live the life their love deserves.

Story
Half-Korean, half-Japanese, Masaji Ishikawa has spent his whole life feeling like a man without a country. This feeling only deepened when his family moved from Japan to North Korea when Ishikawa was just thirteen years old, and unwittingly became members of the lowest social caste. His father, himself a Korean national, was lured to the new Communist country by promises of abundant work, education for his children, and a higher station in society. But the reality of their new life was far from utopian.

Power of Love
Reviewed: 11-05-22
I was like please don't let this be a Twilight reimagining... and it wasn't! It was more! What an interesting perspective of love. How do we define it? By rituals or the heart.
This book is the groundwork (building) of a whole new world. It’s fairly steady with no grand build up but keeps your attention. Then it ended and I was not ready because that's when the action started. And it ends with so many possibilities! I enjoyed it so much & cannot wait to explore all their futures.
