Story
Nate doesn’t want to listen. He’s between missions and just wants to relax, not to travel hundreds of miles and hunt for the driver of the car that hit someone he doesn’t even know. But ignoring the call is not an option. What Nate had hoped would be a simple mission turns into something much more sinister, when he discovers a wide-reaching evil, festering in a small Northern California town. To confront it, he will need all the skills he’s learned working in the shadow world.

Not the Brett Battles from the Jonathan Quinn series.
I was expecting more action and interaction. This will mainly a dialogue with himself.

"If Robert Littell didn't invent the American spy novel," says Tom Clancy, "he should have." In this spectacular Cold-War-as-Alice-in-Wonderland epic, Littell, "the American le Carre," takes us down the rabbit hole and into the labyrinthine world of espionage that has been the CIA for the last half-century. "Ostensibly a single novel, The Company can also be listened to as an anthology of cracking good spy stories," says ( Publishers Weekly).

Wow! Intense and Beautifully Done
Reviewed: 02-07-19
I read/listen to a lot of books and this one easily makes it to the top of the great list. It makes you question fiction and history. By the middle, I was fact checking to see what was real and what was fiction historically (most of the events were before my time or while I was young enough to be oblivious to world history) and what would the impact be to the story.
The "Alice In Wonderland" theme is woven masterfully throughout.
As usual, Scott Brick does an excellent job narrating all the characters and all of the accents.
It is a LONG listen and I racked up several Audible credits while I listened to this one, but worth it.

Story
When you listen to this audiobook, you will make many assumptions. You will assume you are listening to a story about a jealous ex-wife. You will assume she is obsessed with her replacement - a beautiful, younger woman who is about to marry the man they both love. You will assume you know the anatomy of this tangled love triangle. Assume nothing. Twisted and deliciously chilling, The Wife Between Us exposes the secret complexities of an enviable marriage - and the dangerous truths we ignore in the name of love.

Wow. What a story
Reviewed: 01-23-18
This is my first Coes novel. I will admit it was very hard not to be emotional at the characters. The terrorists seem so lifelike it’s hard not to be angry and despising of them. And likewise feeling proud of the heroes.
The ending was a bit ho him. But otherwise a good read

This will keep you on the edge of your seat only imagining what can happen next. It will leave you asking yourself many questions too about what you would do or how strong you could be in the face of danger and he unknown.
