Story
“The Heron” is the nickname a big-city accountant has attached to himself in his new home near San Diego, where he’s using the alias to avoid a hit man who may be after him. It seems a former client believes that The Heron has skipped town with several million dollars not his own. Don Winslow’s ensuing, entertaining yarn is by turns twisty, dark, and comical as we observe the delicate dance between the pursuer and the pursued.

Story
Members of the military’s special operations branches share a closely guarded secret: They love their jobs. They relish the opportunity to fight. They are thankful for it, even, and hopeful that maybe they’ll get to kill a bunch of bad guys while they’re at it. You don’t necessarily need to thank them for their service - the pleasure is all theirs. In this hilarious and personal memoir, listeners ride shotgun alongside former Army Ranger and private military contractor and current social media phenomenon Mat Best, into the action and its aftermath, both abroad and at home.

Story
In sports, everybody loves redemption stories, the underdog who no one believes in but through sheer hard work wins it all. But no one tells the stories of the players who work hard and don’t make it. In pro football, 53 guys get on the roster. Ten make it to the practice squad. And then there’s the 64th Man - that’s Billy Logan (Cena), who seems to always be one spot from glory.

It is just a little to much of a reach... some funny spots...but not a football story and the comedy is a little weak

In the monsoon season of 1968-69 at a fire support base called Matterhorn, located in the remote mountains of Vietnam, a young and ambitious Marine lieutenant wants to command a company to further his civilian political ambitions. But two people stand in his way.

I get up every morning with coffee heavily laced with bourbon and over the years used a semi truck load of coke... don't use coke anymore but mostly because no access and liquor is my drug of choice.. but I never drink to get drunk as our heroine of this yarn does.. I did enjoy the book and her tale is a fun listen.. would love to chat with her.. think a lot of people will enjoy the listen

It's now a year later, and Virgil has only one thing on his mind: Allie French, the woman who stole his heart from their days in Appaloosa. Even though Allie ran off with another man, Virgil is determined to find her, his deputy and partner Everett Hitch at his side.

Just a fantastic listen..particularly if you have read either or both of the two previous books of the trilogy (Appaloosa and/or Redemption)..I saw the movie starring Ed Harris which was great ..the narration here and plot are the best of the series..I just wish Parker would write more about these compelling characters..if you like action and very believable westerns you won't be disappointed
