Odd narration

The narrator has very good accents, but mispronounced many words. After listening, I am fairly certain that Taylor swift did not write this book. I think the movie will be better than the book.

Story
Littleport, Maine, has always felt like two separate towns: an ideal vacation enclave for the wealthy, whose summer homes line the coastline, and a simple harbor community for the year-round residents whose livelihoods rely on service to the visitors. Typically, fierce friendships never develop between a local and a summer girl - but that’s just what happens with visitor Avery Greer and Littleport resident Sadie Loman. Each summer for almost a decade, the girls are inseparable - until Sadie is found dead.

The basic story is good. I liked how it ended.
There is a lot of filler and repetition mixed with the story.
It's a tedious listen, I gave up on it, then gave it another chance.

Story
In this award-winning Audible Studios production, Trevor Noah tells his wild coming-of-age tale during the twilight of apartheid in South Africa. It’s a story that begins with his mother throwing him from a moving van to save him from a potentially fatal dispute with gangsters, then follows the budding comedian’s path to self-discovery through episodes both poignant and comical.

Born A Crime
Reviewed: 01-14-17
Where does Born a Crime rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
This was my favorite audiobook from 2016.
What was one of the most memorable moments of Born a Crime?
I can't write the most memorable part because it would ruin the story.
What does Trevor Noah bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
This book is especially good as an audio book because you can hear the different South African languages and the different accents and speaking patterns of each character.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The relationship between Trevor and his mother is beautiful. The book is a love story of their relationship. I could write more, but it's better to just listen to it all.
Any additional comments?
I read a lot and listen to audiobooks a lot. So my friends and family ask me for recommendations once in awhile. I've been recommending this audiobook to all of them without them asking. I took a screen shot of the cover and sent it to all of them with a text saying you have to listen to this.
I was recommending this book to some co-workers and started to tear up just talking about it. They both said they would read it, so I was trying to convince them to listen to the audio. I was playing the audiobook for a few minutes and that got me listening to it for a second time. I'm still loving it.
Thank you Trevor Noah for sharing your stories with us.

Story
By 1920, the movies had suddenly become America's new favorite pastime and one of the nation's largest industries. Never before had a medium possessed such power to influence; yet Hollywood's glittering ascendancy was threatened by a string of headline-grabbing tragedies - including the murder of William Desmond Taylor, the popular president of the Motion Picture Directors Association, a legendary crime that has remained unsolved until now.

It seems like the "who" of who did it is an educated guess, which made sense but I wanted to know for sure. Well read.

Story
With two kids, an amazing husband, and an incredible family, Emma's life was everything she’d ever hoped it would be. But there was a downside to having everything you’ve ever wanted, a downside that Teren and Emma couldn’t possibly have been prepared for. When you have everything you want…then you also have everything to lose.

Good story; bad editing
Reviewed: 03-19-15
Most of the content could've been excluded. I started listening at 1.25 speed then went to 1.5 speed. That helped. The author over explains and has too much of Emma's thoughts which are repetitive. For the entire series I liked the story but it gets lost in fluff and there's hours between interesting events.

The narration of this book is off character from the previous books, which I loved. Gabra Zackman was excellent as Sophie Katz in the first three books but lost the spunk on this one.
The story was still good, the reading should have a retake, as a couple voices and tone are off.
