Story
Alex Sand was spending the evening at home playing basketball with his two young sons when all three were shot in cold blood. A wealthy federal judge, there’s no short list of people who could have a vendetta against Sands, but the gruesome murders, especially that of his children, turn their St. Paul community on its head. Sand was on the verge of a major donation to a local housing charity, Heart/Twin Cities, and with the money in limbo, eyes suddenly turn to his grieving widow, Margaret Cooper, to see what she might do with the money.

Story
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Story
An off-duty Coast Guardsman is fishing with his family when he calls in some suspicious behavior from a nearby boat. It's a snazzy craft, slick and outfitted with extra horsepower, and is zipping along until it slows to pick up a surfaced diver...a diver who was apparently alone, without his own boat, in the middle of the ocean. None of it makes sense unless there's something hinky going on, and his hunch is proved right when all three Guardsmen who come out to investigate are shot and killed.

The story line about the Pres and the secret service detail wasn’t necessary and not believable or realistic. That entire storyline should’ve been deleted from this book. Everything else was good.

This is a slow moving book that could easily lull someone to sleep but I really enjoyed this format and the characters. There were a few unexplained jumps in the story line but.... I could’ve been lulled to sleep and missed it. Not something for everyone but I thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more. I think it was written in 1998 or 1999 so that might explain a few things but I enjoyed this book and will continue to read this series.
