I’m just glad is over

This story was so tedious and slow. Nothing exciting about a slow boring story and then try to wrap it up in an overly explained plot twist at the end. The characters’ voices didn’t quite match up either.

Story
Lacey Terwilliger's shock and humiliation over her husband's philandering prompt her to add some bonus material to Mike's company newsletter: stunning Technicolor descriptions of the special brand of "administrative support" his receptionist gives him. The detailed mass e-mail to Mike's family, friends, and clients blows up in her face, and before one can say "instant urban legend", Lacey has become the pariah of her small Kentucky town and a media punch line....

Tess Strebel can’t recognize her own face. She can’t recognize her home. Her bedroom is unfamiliar. And she can’t remember the handsome stranger lying next to her in bed. A stranger who claims he’s her husband. Tess reads a letter in her own handwriting, composed during a rare lucid day, explaining her life as it now exists: she was in a terrible car accident one year ago. Every morning, she wakes up unable to remember most of the last decade. Including her own wedding.

Very suspenseful & ended properly

The ending was just! I think the issue some people took with the ending is that after hours of suspense the ending happened fast, but it was just. Everyone got what they deserved and the epilogue provided additional closure.

Way too many plot twists. After a while it stopped being surprising or entertaining. Fast forwarded a couple of times just to get to the point. Great story overall, better if it had been shorter.

Story
Smarmy personals ads. Daring declarations of love. Freelance writer Jaine Austen has penned them all. But no one needs her help more than geeky, gawky Howard Murdoch. His request is simple enough: a letter proclaiming his undying love for Stacy Lawrence, a gorgeous aerobics instructor. The fact that he's never actually met the woman gives Jaine pause - yet she soon overcomes her misgivings, and the unlikely Romeo lands a date! But his triumph is short-lived. On Valentine's Day, Howard finds Stacy bludgeoned to death with a Thigh Master - and is quickly named the prime suspect.

We still lack gratitude to Vietnam vets
Reviewed: 05-02-24
This book was eye opening. As a younger GenXer I never stopped to think about the length and devastation of the Vietnam was. “Thank you vets” will take a new meaning moving forward. My gratitude to the women who paved the road, broke the ceilings, and fought for all we take for granted today. Thank you for this book.

Story
Three months of solitude in a gorgeous secluded summer rental home is the perfect atmosphere for Jackie “Jack” MacNamara to write the novel featuring the man of her dreams. She only wishes that her rugged Wild West cowboy existed. Then her reverie is interrupted by Nathan Powell, he’s a mild-mannered architect who is perplexed that his house has been rented without his knowledge and expects Jack to leave. But Jack’s not about to let her work be disrupted—unless she can convince her handsome host that fate has brought them together for a romantic adventure greater than fiction.

Not exactly a continuation of book #1
Reviewed: 04-26-24
I purchased book #2 of this trilogy only to realize that it’s not a continuation, and not only that, but is basically a modern version of the same story at book one. So not only is there no continuation, but the story itself it’s a repetition of the 1st. The performance was good, but lots of pauses as if reading instead of performing the book.

Story
Bounty hunter Stephanie Plum is back, packing a whole lot of attitude. This time around, she's on the trail of Kenny Mancuso, a boy from the working-class burg of Trenton, New Jersey, who has just shot his best friend. Fresh out of the Army and suspiciously wealthy, Mancuso's also distantly related to Joe Morelli, a vice cop with questionable ethics, a libido in permanent overdrive, and a habit of horning in on Stephanie's investigations.

Story
It was supposed to be fun. A relaxing trip to a remote mountain retreat where there’s no phone reception. Three couples, friends since high school, are looking forward to a weekend of drinking, reminiscing and flirting. When someone suggests swapping partners, it doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. The lights will be switched off, for privacy. It’s not really cheating if you don’t know who you were with, right? But when the lights come back on, one of the men is dead. No-one can agree who was in which bedroom with whom.

WOW! Best murder mystery/ thriller book!
Reviewed: 03-03-24
In a book store, the thriller section is all me so I can say without a doubt that this is the best murder mystery / thriller book I’ve listened to! I admit that I found it to be slow at first, I even put it down and then came back to it. There are many characters so I suppose there was a lot of groundwork to cover. Once things got going, it was surprise after surprise for HOURS! And when you thought there were no surprises left, bang! Another one. The ending was very sweet. I wouldn’t say this was an LGBT book, but I love that it concluded with love regardless of the couple’s sexual orientation. I’m a straight woman and found this so sweet and inclusive, absolutely loved it.
