Story
Okiku wants vengeance...and she gets it. Whenever there's a monster hurting a child - the same way she was hurt 300 years ago in Japan - her spirit is there to deliver punishment. But one American boy draws her like no other. The two are pulled into a world of eerie doll rituals and dark Shinto exorcisms that will take them from the American Midwest to the remote valleys and shrines of Aomori, Japan. The boy is not a monster, but something evil writhes beneath his skin, trapped by a series of intricate tattoos.

I wasn’t sure when this first started. The author’s monotone gave me pause. However, as the book kept going it actually made it better! It was a good way to experience the story.

Story
This box set includes all three books in the Golden Guard trilogy. A coastal summer is turned upside down by a violent murder, and a quest for lost pirate treasure turns into a hunt for the killer. A mercinary lives by her own rules, and a prince wants to see her under his command. Freeing her from the shadows of her past has a high price, but will he pay it? In the perilous jungles of the North, luck is something in short supply as two strangers set off on a dangerous mission that may just bring them together if it doesn't kill them first.

I loved the male narrator. He made me feel like he was telling the story, I could FEEL everything. The female narrator sounded like she was reading, very stiff like listening to Siri. Thank goodness she was only on the second book half the time. I loved all 3 of these books regardless. Elise Kova is officially my favorite author!!!

An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. Loved this story

I loved this story. It was adorable and I think this world is so amazing. This is the second book by this author that I loved. I loved the narrators switching. Although the male narrator made a few mistakes in editing that didn’t get caught. (mistakes at minutes: 227, 231, & 579) It didn’t take away from the story.

I was taken aback at first because the narrator is different from the first two books. I did get used to it. It was still very good.

Story
This 1872 sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland finds Carroll's inquisitive heroine in a fantastic land where everything is reversed. Whereas the first book has the deck of cards as a theme, this book is loosely based on a game of chess, played on a giant chessboard with fields for squares. Alice encounters talking flowers, madcap kings and queens, and strange mythological characters when she becomes a pawn in a bizarre chess game.
