About this listen

This 1872 sequel to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland finds Carroll's inquisitive heroine in a fantastic land where everything is reversed. Whereas the first book has the deck of cards as a theme, this book is loosely based on a game of chess, played on a giant chessboard with fields for squares.

Alice encounters talking flowers, madcap kings and queens, and strange mythological characters when she becomes a pawn in a bizarre chess game involving Humpty Dumpty, Tweedledum and Tweedledee, and other amusing nursery-rhyme characters.

This performance of one of our favorite books kept the kids entirely engaged during our road trip!

Wonderful Performance!

One of the oddest things I've had the pleasure of listening too. It is like being thrashed about from time to time. I can see why they took liberties with all the movies they made. He was quite an odd fellow this one. Overall I enjoyed the story.

Quite odd

Not sure what the hoopla is about this one. I’d probably get it if i listend to it again (the performance was grand), but i don’t have an interest in the story.

Not as good as the first

The voices were chosen oddly. They did not appeal to the children who listened to the story.

I enjoyed listening to this book. I’ve read this book when I was a kid in elementary and it’s still as wonderful as the first time I read it.

Awesome

I found this narration obnoxious and very off-putting. I had trouble finishing it. I've never been a huge fan of Ellison, but a few of his stories were fine. He should stick to writing. The story probably isn't as good as the first Alice story, but it's still a classic.

Fans of the narrator might enjoy this
