Story
In the summer of 1923, the Honorable Daisy Dalrymple makes what should be an uneventful research trip to the Museum of Natural History quite an eventful day - with her nephew, Derek, and her soon-to-be stepdaughter, Belinda, in tow. But as she interviews the various curators for her article on the museums of London, she soon discovers that the Museum of Natural History is a hothouse of professional rivalry and jealousy.

Found this story difficult to follow, the museum was such a rabbit warren & impossible to remember all the connections between the galleries.

Story
>In July of 1923, the Honorable Daisy Dalrymple travels to Henley-on-Thames to visit her aunt and uncle, as well as to work on her latest writing assignment: covering the Henley Royal Regatta for an American magazine. Daisy plans a simple trip researching her article, enjoying the races, and, come the weekend, having a pleasant time with her fiancé, Detective Chief Inspector Alec Fletcher of Scotland Yard. But the tensions between the Ambrose team's coxswain, Horace Bott - a shopkeeper's son and scholarship student at Oxford - and rower Basil DeLancey - the younger son of an earl and all-around bounder - are constantly threatening to erupt into violence.

Dreadful pronunciation
Reviewed: 01-31-22
Oh dear. If you’re going to use an American narrator for a story of English people, set in England, for goodness sake get an English person to check the pronunciation. Better still, use an English narrator. We enjoyed the story but it was painful and frustrating to listen to the awful American pronunciation.

Thoroughly enjoyed this novel once I got into it. I found the switching between dates a bit confusing initially until I’d grasped the bigger picture. It’s a wonderful story and I highly recommend it.

Story
What's Georgiana Darcy's story? Jane Austen tells us so little in Pride and Prejudice that we're left to wonder. How did the early loss of her parents shape Miss Darcy's character? And what about her near-disastrous affair with Mr. Wickham? Is that the true source of her shyness? She adores her brother and his new wife, Elizabeth, but will their guiding influence be enough to steer Georgiana clear of new trouble as she comes of age and falls in love again?

Story
For Oxford student Kivrin, traveling back to the 14th century is more than the culmination of her studies - it's the chance for a wonderful adventure. For Dunworthy, her mentor, it is cause for intense worry about the thousands of things that could go wrong.

Slow but well done.

We found the story slow & ponderous. The characters were well drawn and I was riveted to find out what happened to them in the end and whether Kivrin made it home.
