I'm Convinced Kate Stewart Wrote This just for Me

Guys, who doesn't love a book about a broody musician and a gal that just inspires him? This book has everything you want... angst, emotions, heartache, success, failure, all of it. It's also a great nod to Seattle in the 90's, which is why I'm in love with it and now in a forever book coma. I wasn't crazy about the voices because in my head they were a bit different, but it wasn't enough to make me stop listening. This book is a rollercoaster. I appreciated the story and the message that love sometimes isn't enough. Did I say I loved it?

Listen to me carefully... get a warm beverage... clear your schedule... and listen to this book immediately.

Let's get to the story. Kate took this story to an entirely new level with Natalie's story. It is a very nontypical sequel and I appreciated that so much.

Things I loved: The soundtrack, LL not being a cliche, the scenes in Dallas and Fort Worth, the consistency of Joel, and that Nate got his 30 seconds of fame in the Epilogue.

The characters were easy to love. Natalie is strong and passionate. Easton is emotional and broody in the best ways.

I loved everything about this book... but let's be honest... If Joe Arden read Paradise Lost aloud, I would listen. He can do no wrong.

This series lost me after book one. My sister encouraged me to start it again and I muddled through books two and three which were not my fave, but this book redeemed it. I would read the whole series again if it meant I got this story and read by Callie... say no more, Fam. The plot, characters, and setting descriptions deserve a chef's kiss. I like the reality of Marie's internal monologue and the pressure of her dad's business and things that this tale relates. I appreciate her personal growth as well, finding herself. You won't be disappointed by this story. You'll be longing for a vacation to Alaska.

I like all the things about this story. I enjoyed meeting the Redemption Ranch crew (I haven't delved into any other series yet,) and the characterization was on point. You cannot hate Jacob Morgan in literally any narration- so immediately I was smitten with the tale. I appreciated the long lost best friends aspect of this. It had just enough suspense and trauma to keep me interested without getting overboard and unrealistic. I will say, there's a tell in these- each of the novels give you a super sappy, loving, swoon worthy scene just before the tragedy, so I learned my lesson during this series. Overall, I enjoyed the snark, the characterization of both the hero and heroine, and I liked the healthy, stable, male pursuit, which is seriously lacking in Romance as a genre. I love that Dare has a normal job, and the everyday, relatable pressures being built into the story, like having to get up and go to work, and pressure to run a family business. Overall, this was a great tale, there definitely are SOME SCENES... insert chili pepper emoji here... but I didn't feel like it took over the story. Enjoyable... and Jacob Morgan.

I don't know why, but I always want these little prequels to be a prologue. It is very cumbersome to go through the whole download process for 35 minutes. That said, the suspense written into this particular prequel was good. I appreciated the descriptions and the continuation of the previous story. Overall, as always, good writing.

Let me start by saying that I think it may have been different for me if I had read the physical book instead of listening to the audio book. Meg read this with a kind of kid voice, and I understand the reasoning, but it had me detaching from Sully for most of the book. The story, as with the rest of this series, was well thought out and well written. The speed at which Sully fell for Cowboy is a bit of a "what-not-to-do" trauma survivor no-no.... but, I know the protective cowboy type is a trope that a lot of folks are into, just not my bag personally. I probably wouldn't read this particular part of the series again, but you won't regret reading the whole series. The books are a fun and easy read and the characters are likeable and realistic, for the most part, which makes them relatable. I think maybe an opportunity was missed to have Sully snatched again by some of the cult folks and send Cowboy on a wild chase, but that's just an opinion. I kept waiting for it to happen, but the HEA didn't disappoint.

This is my first book by Tara Sivec. I am not usually one to enjoy a book with any mystery, but the allure of this book sucked me in and kept me on my toes until the end. Readers should be mature, as there are multiple intimate scenes, but they are further along in the book, almost classifying it a slow burn romance. Both the revelation about midbook and the plot twist near the end made me absolutely love this book. The narration was good... Felicity Hart is one of my FAVES, she makes the characters so real. Tara writes the love story so that you can feel the emotion in her words and that was one of my favorite aspects of the book. This was an easy read and I was invested until the last word. Friends to lovers romance.

After reading Wish You Were Mine, by Tara, this book was recommended to me by Audible. The narration isn't quite a duet, as the male part is minimal and you don't hear from him until about a 1/3 of the way into the book. The characterization was good. I appreciated the side stories throughout the book. It added some depth to the story itself. It's a fall from grace type story, with the heroine being an up and comer, only to have some bad luck and return to her hometown. The banter between Clint and Brooklynn was cute and the kids were funny, especially Mia. I'm not one for stories where exes are painted in a negative light, but this one did a good job of being in the present and focusing on the current story, both with Clint's ex and Brooklynn's mother. While it wasn't quite as complex plot wise as WYWM, it was a good story and an easy read. Readers enjoying enemies to lovers books will enjoy this book. There are quite a few intimate scenes for those seeking something cleaner to read. I would recommend a mature audience.

I can't praise Katherine Center enough for this well-written, quirky story! I loved the plot and how the romance theme was abided while implementing Helen's personal growth and change. I was moved with her along the journey and enjoyed both the quick wit displayed, as well as, her vulnerability. I appreciated that she wrote passion and longing without explicit content. Overall, this book satisfies on every level. Terrific characterization, easy read, quality content and lovable themes. You won't regret it!!
