a brilliant homage to the great creature features
Reviewed: 02-15-23
I am a fan of a good creature feature, and this one did not disappoint. while it doesn't have some deep political, philosophical, or psychological edge, it more than.makes up in a wonderful combination of all the great creature films of the 80s and 90s. it has a dash of Aliens, a pinch of Tremors, and a sweet undertone of the Bogens mixed into a fun romp that will leave you on the edge of your seat. great job!

this is not your typical supernatural thriller. I mean, yes, there are evil spirits and psychics, but this story has heart and soul. the characters feel more like real people than the mystical, new-age stereotypes that are so often used. this is not just man vs ghost, but man vs his own demons. I enjoyed this much more than I suspected I would.

Story
Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student. But he carries a heavy load. His mom was killed in a horrific accident when he was seven, and grief drove his dad to drink. Charlie learned how to take care of himself—and his dad. When Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. Sometimes strange sounds emerge from that shed.

well done
Reviewed: 09-22-22
Stephen King touches the same vein of rich and often terrifying mythos that he has been known for. However as the author matures so does the depth of color and characters that have made him a success over the years. Just as fairy tales were often satires on deeper, darker subjects, so King's Fairy Tail touches on the deeper truths we often haven't the words to describe. This light hearted tale is only there to cast the shadow that reveals the darkness in all of us. Well Done, sir. Well Done.

The Perry family's new house is perfect - except for the weird behavior of the neighbors, and that odd smell coming from a dark corner in the basement. Pity no one warned the family about the house. Now it's too late. Because the darkness at the bottom of the basement stairs is rising.

I finally finished the game alive!
Reviewed: 05-14-20
I love the Alien series (with a few exceptions) and love the game. This terrifying tale of another Xenomorph encounter delves more into the development of the hero as a person than just another jump scare Alien story. It isn't a story about who created the Aliens or merely surviving one of them, but beautifully details the life of Amanda and Ellen Ripley placing them as real people who happened upon the same horrible circumstances. It cleverly answers some of the plot holes left by both Alien and it's sequel. Overall, it was highly enjoyable even for one who has seen all the cut scenes from the game.

Often well written ghost stories are hard to find. They often follow so close to a pattern, they appear to be copies and not originals. These tales from the early 1900's are brought to life in these beautiful dramatizations by the original master of terror M.R. James. A true treat!

Aside from the typical heart pounding action that Romyn adds to all his work he brings a plethora of well developed, new characters that are sure to become favorites for years to come. Luke not only gives an action packed story but also teases the intellect with the very nature of the Universe itself.
