Story
John Birmingham is the master of alternate history adventure - and now he's mastered a new genre with the volcanically fast-paced and wildly inventive Dave Hooper urban fantasy series. The series is anchored by a thrilling high concept: An oil rig opens a deep ocean rift that unleashes terrifying monsters into the world.

Story
Cent can teleport. So can her parents, but they are the only people in the world who can. This is not as great as you might think it would be - sure, you can go shopping in Japan and then have tea in London, but it's hard to keep a secret like that. And there are people, dangerous people, who work for governments and have guns, who want to make you do just this one thing for them. And when you're a teenage girl things get even more complicated. High school. Boys. Global climate change, refugees, and genocide. Orbital mechanics.

Story
Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old - when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer. Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries....

Dresden files but better
Reviewed: 05-22-12
What made the experience of listening to Hounded the most enjoyable?
I had been searching for a book as entertaining as the Dresden files for months. This book far surpasses my expectations.( I was losing hope)
The characters are built extremely well, and the flow of the story is beautiful. I think the art of the narrator definitely increases the potency of the story.
What other book might you compare Hounded to and why?
Dresden files
Have you listened to any of Luke Daniels’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
no
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes, I wanted to listen to this straight through although I gobbled it up in today's.
