Not as engaging as other worlds by this author

I was happy to actually feel a little bit curiosity to know how it ended, which led to my listening to the whole book... but I never really felt connected to any of the charades, unlike some of the other books this author had written.
The narrator did a fantastic job, though!

Story
Teenage girls are taking courses of testosterone and disfiguring their bodies. Parents are undermined; experts are over-relied upon; dissenters in science and medicine are intimidated; free speech truckles under renewed attack; socialized medicine bears hidden consequences; and an intersectional era has arisen in which the desire to escape a dominant identity encourages individuals to take cover in victim groups. Every person who has ever had a skeptical thought about the sudden rush toward a non-binary future but been afraid to express it - this book is for you.

Enjoyable read

It was so fun to continue this great story. I liked some of the continued development of the loved characters... But after thoroughly enjoying the previous 2 books very much, i felt that this one (if it is the last of the series) really brought up more complexity and questions, as it broadened its universe - when it maybe should've spent the time tying things up in the world already built. Didn't ruin it, but certainly left me less than resolved in the end.
Fantastic narration, consistent with what helped to make its predecessors such an enjoyable experience!

Story
It all began with Dragon Weather: a wave of incredible heat, oppressive humidity, dark angry clouds . . . and dragons. Dragons with no remorse, no sympathy, no use for humans. Dragons who destroyed an entire village and everyone in it. Everyone, that is, except the young boy, Arlian. Orphaned and alone, Arlian was captured by looters and sold as a mining slave. Years later he escaped, fueled by years of hatred for the dragons, bandits, and slavers that took away his youth - and a personal vow to exact retribution from those who have wronged him.

Story
Jimmy McTigue and the boys from Manhattan North Narcotics are doing "God's work", making collars and kicking down doors up above 96th Street in places like Harlem, Spanish Harlem, and Washington Heights - all the while having laughs. But when movie star Meg Cassidy; Artie Levin, her obnoxious agent; and the up-and-coming rapper he represents (hip-hopping about jihad, no less) arrive on the scene, things are bound to get dicey - and they do!

A Story About Police...
Reviewed: 10-26-18
There are some fun and interesting moments throughout this book. But from the start of the story it was difficult to follow, with all of the names and changing situations, with brief, shallow character development.
The narration was awesome and characters were distinctly and vibrantly represented in the narration.
If you are a police officer, familiar with the culture, or a big fan of police/detective stories, chances are that you'll enjoy this book.

As suddenly as it picks-up, this story ends - tied with a khaki bow which contrasts with its more colorful contents.
The narration was fantastic!
I was immediately drawn into the story and did experience many edge-of-your-seat moments, as i enjoyed, with anticipation, where the author takes us. Overall I enjoyed listening to this book though there were some rather painful moments, necessary as they may have been, that affected my experience listening.
One's experience reading this book will vary drastically based on their political and/or moral views. Though I am all for sharing beliefs/convictions; sprinkled throughout the compelling narrative were random, forced sections of dialogue or exposition which felt like a lecture to the reader, borrowing from bad stereotypes and direct, overused arguments. Perhaps the points could have been made just as clearly - more knit into the narrative, workout interrupting.
