Perfect Tale For Horror Lovers
Reviewed: 12-28-22
I've always been terrified of children, and this really slid that terror home. This is a creepy and unsettling story of a family being haunted by a demon from one generation to the next. What I thoroughly enjoyed about this novel is the demon isn't heavily featured so much as the actions of the ones it possesses are. The creep factor is built by the subtle actions of the characters in the book and didn't need over-top shocking scenes to build dread and terror. The paranormal in this just a tool used to haunt the reader adding a touch of seasoning to a perfectly written novel. Another great read for horror lovers.

Great performance and did enjoy the pace. Pretty predictable for the most part but that can be forgiven with the unique protagonist. Would recommend to anyone who likes a “bad b****” if ya know what I mean.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Most definitely. It's very well written has a good balance of humor and severity. Justine also does a great job of giving each character their own voice. There is only a couple of times were the characters sounded very similar where it was hard to tell one from the other but that was rare and far in-between.
What did you like best about this story?
I loved that this book kept me on the edge of my seat. I never knew what was going to happen, even when you thought the outcome is obvious there a little extra surprise to keep you guessing and entertained.
Which scene was your favorite?
Without giving anything away, there is a prophecy about one of the members of the group. Their face-off and the one-liners where hilarious.
