Disappointed

I can’t believe that the writers came up with such drivel. Furthermore, the narrators are truly terrible. I should have stopped listening and returned it. I kept hoping it would improve. I lived in hope and was gravely disappointed.

Life changed the moment the Heavens granted Benedict his Regeneration Sphere. Stepping out of the abusive cycle he'd known all his life, Benedict entered the Gilfle Academy. Getting help from his therapist, Agatha Carper, he was ready to try his new lease on life. It wasn't without its bumps and setbacks, but he wasn't going to give up on this second chance. Story
Dominic's world had been a fairly simple life. To live his life to the best of his abilities, gain experience, level up, and strive to enjoy himself as best he could in a backwater. Which, while tough on its own, was made infinitely harder by his father being the local executioner. All of that becomes infinitely worse when his entire family is murdered. Dominic is then thrust into a war between noble houses that had been put on hold for generations. A war that the royal family lost, and now only had one true heir and claimant: Dominic Randolph.

This is a novel that should be a few chapters in a novel. It drones on and on and nothing happens. The only highlight is the talking dog. I’m not reading another installment. Not even to hear the talking dog.

I had to stop listening after chapter 4. The high pitched voice of the narrator made my tenth ache. The screeching voice for female and male characters is ridiculous. The novel is dreadfully boring. I had enough time to make coffee and wash my hair and I missed nothing. One positive, the female lead has good taste in food.

What a disappointment
Reviewed: 09-04-21
I expected so much more from Marko Kloos. Firstly the narrator did not do anything to enhance the story. The novel is a disaster. The 3 protagonists halve chapters devoted to each of them. The 3 are loosely connected. Book 2 gives more clarity. I’ve listened to all three and only because I wanted to know what happened to Aiden. The 3 the books in the series could be one. I returned the books as they didn’t add anything to my library. Reading the books was agony.
