Story
Barbara was 12 when she was admitted to the psychiatric hospital Aston Hall in 1971. From a troubled home, she'd hoped she would find sanctuary there. But during her stay, Barbara was systematically drugged and abused by its head physician, Dr Kenneth Milner. Somehow, eventually, she started to campaign for answers. This is a shocking account of how vulnerable children were preyed upon by the doctor entrusted with their care.

Well Written and really interesting

I chose this book because the title sounded interesting and the narrators voice sounded inviting. It’s not what I listen to typically but it was well written and gave me an insight on adoption and IVF. Strongly recommend!

Story
In September 2007, Elissa Wall, the star witness against polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs, gave captivating testimony of how Jeffs forced her to marry her first cousin at age 14. This harrowing account proved to be the most compelling evidence against Jeffs, showing the harsh realities of this closed community and the lengths to which Jeffs went in order to control the sect's women. Now, in this courageous memoir, Wall tells the incredible story of how she emerged from the confines of the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints and helped bring one of America's most notorious criminals to justice.

It felt like torture...
Reviewed: 01-03-20
I will be honest, listening to this book felt like torture. I bought it for just a few dollars otherwise I would request a refund. The main character sounded like a self- absorbed, pathetic, rich woman that never had any job ever. It was literally irritating to listen to it! It's a miracle that I listened to the whole book.
