Story
The first US / UN invasion of the renegade lunar colony of Aristillus has failed - but the powers-that-be in Washington and elsewhere can't give up. Their political careers - and an escape from the economic decline of Earth under a command-and-control economy - depend on conquering the lunar expats. A second - and final - invasion is planned. The lunar settlers prepare to repel the onslaught, but what can a small population of 1 million do against the combined might of billions on Earth - especially now that the PKs have the secret of the antigravity drive?

Great Googly Moogly This Is GOOD!!

Okay, so I meant to say GREAT! The second in the Aristillus Series will not disappoint! I promise! O know I sund like a fanboy, and I suppose I am, being both male and a fan, but so what?
This book is a rich tapestry of great science, "what if" science, genetic manipulation, space battles, intrepid pioneers, shady government dealings, corruption and retribution and dogs. Not just your standard dogs either. Oh, and an AI with mysterious motives.
Mr. Corcoran has done a tremendous job of weaving a tale that is frighteningly possible, provided we invent one or two things. (Personally, I'm optimistic. Jules Verne was a visionary with some of the fanciful items he filled his stories with. Look what happened a few years after he wrote of submarines.) Could it happen? Who knows?
All I know is, I'm rooting for the dogs.

Story
Earth in 2064 is politically corrupt and in economic decline. The Long Depression has dragged on for 56 years, and the Bureau of Sustainable Research is hard at work making sure no new technologies disrupt the planned economy. Ten years ago, a band of malcontents, dreamers, and libertarian radicals bolted privately developed antigravity drives onto rusty seagoing cargo ships, loaded them to the gills with 20th-century tunnel-boring machines and earthmoving equipment, and set sail - for the moon.

Once in a while I stumble on a gem. In this case it's in the form of a wickedly well written book that has, as far as I'm concerned, everything!
Great science fiction has to have a solid basis in reality as well as a smattering of things we don't have. Yet. Travis Corcoran has created an exciting tomorrow that will leave you wondering if it's not already happening . He outlines a political system that is frighteningly familiar and the machinations therein. Intrigue, subterfuge, sabotage, murder, battles for the heart and soul of freedom. Characters fill the life of the story who are brilliant, frail, strong, intelligent, sneaky, honorable and everything in between. The best part of this is it's all on the moon. With dogs. Yes, dogs.
I could gush all day, but I strongly encourage you to read it. I simply cannot do it justice.

The truth is still out there. The iconic hit that had millions searching for UFOs back in the 90s is now an exhilarating audio event, only from Audible. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reunite as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, joining an ensemble of original cast members in an out-of-this-world production.

horrible rendition
Reviewed: 10-22-17
The stories were trite and the narration/performances of the "skilled actors" was more wooden than a cigar store sentinel. I don't think any of them had their heart in it and couldn't wait to get the check to the bank.

When Monster Hunter International's top hunter, Owen Zastava Pitt, was given a tip about some hunters who had gone missing in action, he didn't realize their rescue mission would snowball into the single biggest operation in MHI's history. Their men are being held prisoner in a horrific nightmare dimension, and the only way to reach them is through the radioactive ruins of a monster-infested war zone. As if that wasn't bad enough, it's also the home base of the powerful creature behind the devastating attacks on the Last Dragon and Copper Lake.

This series has just about everything one could want in a saga. The knowledge of the authors regarding the technical subject matter is enviable. These guys blended fantasy, horror, adventure mixed with a smattering of romance and more than a little humor and created a rollicking good time and the narrator nailed it!
I highly recommend this book

Strangely Terrific In Every Way!
Reviewed: 06-06-16
Would you consider the audio edition of Free: The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent to be better than the print version?
As there isn't a print version that I'm aware of, I'll have to say yes.
What other book might you compare Free: The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent to and why?
For me it hearkens back to the days of yore when I first read "Bored of the Rings" by Doug Kenny and Henry Beard. Both are devilishly adept at lampooning a great many things... and what is life without the ability to laugh at ourselves and others? Mostly others, of course.
Have you listened to any of Adam Baldwin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't, but I'm going to seek him out like a tick in search of an old hound!
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was moved to tears of laughter almost from the moment it began until the end. The first group of characters set the mood for the entire story. President Baldwin and the SecDef are some of the best characters one can imagine. And Tom. Well. Tom is always striving for the finest in Customer Satisfaction.
Any additional comments?
It was colorful and inventive and allowed many guffaws to erupt unbidden from my innards. Larry Correia has become one of my favorite authors (even though he's only aspiring and not up to the standards of "some"! His agility at the written word spans from hard fantasy to magical worlds to tongue in cheek monster hunting and I lap up every word. He is a refreshing talent in the literary world where so many are so smitten with themselves you want to smack them with a three day old mackerel. Please keep them coming, Larry.
