Sadism

I want my money back. This is a sadistic storyline. I found it to be quite disturbing. There was no indication in the description of this book to indicate the amount of physical abuse or torture

I’m more into fantasy/si fi than mystery
Reviewed: 03-15-24
This was a first experience of a mystery/fantasy book. I found it to be very light and easy listening. This book may just have opened up a whole new genre of books for me. Even though the relationship between mother and daughter is the focus of the story line, it occasionally became a bit neurotic and disturbing. Overall the book flowed smoothly.

Interesting story.
Reviewed: 03-11-24
The narration was terrible. It was read in a droning monotone, that made it difficult to stay in the story line. Not a good decision for the author to read her own book.

Story line is engaging. But the reader started every sentence with a loud, ear piercing voice, which then tapered off into near inaudibility. Very disruptive to the story and irritating. And this was not the same voice used in the sample of the audio book.

Sound effects were the worst of a amateurish effort. The detailed descriptiveness added little to the story line.

Story
Albert Jenkins and his friends have enjoyed several months of peace, which is why when a Rosengul spaceship crash-lands into his new house, he's not exactly surprised. From the wreckage, a pair of ordinarily reclusive small Rosengul emerge and spin a tale of kidnapping and deceit. Of course, AJ, not always the most sensitive, asks the pertinent question of how that involves him and his friends. The simple answer is that AJ and crew have developed a reputation of getting things done, probably because his methods skirt Galactic Empire rules.
