A great start to a new series
Reviewed: 04-18-25
The author has created a great storyline by creating diverse characters with rich backgrounds brought together by friendship. Imagine a world where witches walk freely amongst the people and we get to watch it all from the eyes of the main character. The author does a good job creating this universe and it’s separate from all her other storylines to date. I wonder where she will go in the next book in this series.

Story
The first adventure in the Buccaneers trilogy begins in the free sea outside of the control of the usurping Xoconai empire, where the dwarven powrie pirates and merchants sail. But the golden-skinned Xoconai have begun to encroach upon these waters behind the rapacious attacks of the frigate Crocodile, helmed by Captain Aketz. But when forced to submit, these sailors choose to live, free to do as they please, without some fool or another pretending to hold power over them.

A surprisingly good story

This story was a thoroughly entertaining story. It's unique setting and characters, as well as the well plotted mysteries. For decades I’ve read the author's work regarding Drizzt and this is the first story without that character’s influence. It provides the reader with a compelling escape with the dialogue, the humor, wit, and sarcasm made for an entertaining read. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Great business advice
Reviewed: 04-12-25
Having started and closed many businesses in my life for a variety of reasons. The information contained in this would have been great advice to have when I started. If you’re looking for someone who is going to coddle you or keep from offending you go somewhere else. Had I read this book in the beginning I would have only had two businesses instead of many. As you go through this book you will get real advice in a very blunt and open format which caused me to realize where I’m failing. I needed to stop and take a serious look at what I’m doing because I need to pivot or never get going. As the author talks about something in the book don’t hesitate to pause and write down notes. I go through a book from start to finish and take notes to come back to later with the place in the book. The second time is my time to really learn. A college professor told me to read a book. Wait a week and read it again, then in three, six and 12 months. If you do this you will get the most out of a book or whatever you are working on learning.

A start of something good
Reviewed: 04-09-25
The author does a really nice job in this story with character development and giving us just enough of the backstory so that we understand what's currently happening. We follow the main character who is a tenacious young woman when found and she learns how to survive amongst vampires. We see her meet someone during a trial and despite their different houses they come together to form a good story. I wouldn't be surprised at some point if this wasn't made into a movie or possibly an AI generated movie. This book definitely sets the stage for a good series and we'll see what the author does with the rest of the books which I haven't read yet.

Pirate and nature

We follow the main characters in this story as they try to solve a swashbuckling mystery. What happens at a pirate book convention? We follow the main character as she tries to solve the mystery of a Murder. We see crossovers with other characters by this author living in the same town which is nice. We get to learn more about the hidden Stones somewhere around the town. We learn about why not to isolate ourselves and to ask for something in our lives. The author really did a nice job on that subject. I listened to this with a tweet and she got a lot out of it. She is upset because I guessed right on who the killer was from the start. I'm sure anybody that reads it will get a lot out of it as well.

Lots of good information
Reviewed: 03-30-25
This book is packed with lots of good information and it's unfortunate much of it has been suppressed. It is true that they have been going back to the original Aramaic test and retranslating the Bible which is telling us a completely different story than the one we believed in. Here the author shows us and tells us about how this information benefits everyone because it's scientifically provable that we are all one. Everything is linked together. We have been sold a lie that says what you do in one location has no impact somewhere else and look at the damage to this world. Read this book and you will see the truth which is verifiable.

We follow the main character as they move from a plant worker to a war hero. As the story progresses we meet many characters which come in a wide range of personalities and allegiances. As the stories progress they make up the sum of the total work. In the first book we get some backstory and a look at what happens when there are no competent leaders running a war. In the second book we get a look at what happens when ego’s begin to flair and people suddenly see the power they want in their grasp. Can they wield it? In the fourth book we follow the main character as they make a surprise discovery which could change everything only to be reminded of high school social order. In the fifth book we get to see real tactics and lots of gas. The sixth book is the end game where it all comes to an end. Is it the end? Will Earth stay together or fall apart? What happens to all the bug heads? The alien human babies? Lots of questions you’ll have to read to get the answers too.

A good story with a slow start
Reviewed: 03-11-25
I started listening to this story and at first it was a bit slow. After we learned a little bit about each character and the first part of the backstory, the storyline picks up and we really don't get most of the backstory until the mid part of the book and then at the end. The story follows the main character as they learn about their life and where they came from. Just because a child is in a house doesn't mean everyone knows where it came from. I use this as an example, but I'm not saying it's part of the story. Lying here. Your story is good and well planned and executed. It will keep the reader engaged in wanting more. I enjoyed the storyline and I enjoyed the story. I didn't see a sequel to this book which I think is good because this is more of a standalone story. However, it fits in nicely with the universe's author has created with the rest of their books. Enjoy the story and enjoy the message. The story has to give us. Be present. It is all we have.

A great way to start each day
Reviewed: 03-09-25
I enjoyed reading this book as it was read to me through Audible. Each day brought a new lesson which could be read/listened to in sequence or randomly. As you go through the book, enjoy each lesson. Apply the ones that feel right for you at that time. Later come back to the others and you may be amazed how they suddenly fit. This book is for everyone. Louise has a way of teaching lessons for everyone. She always gets her messages across even if people don't realize it when they first hear them.
I would like to see an updated version of this book published through Audible with each day as its own chapter. There were many times I wanted to share a lesson with someone, but there was no way to find it in the audio version. Each month is a chapter and it was a drawback for me.

An interesting beginning
Reviewed: 03-01-25
The story has an interesting beginning if this is a start to a whole new series. We get to meet all of the main characters and there is a lot of intrigue in the story. We get to see what it’s like to live in a palace in this storyline and what each royal must go through. A lot of it is pretty standard stuff we’ve seen in many other storylines concerning Royals. Toss in some undead, soldiers and magic, which is not supposed to exist. It makes for an interesting story. The author leaves us open to continue the storyline, and it will be interesting to see what happens.
