Hated it.

There IS NO story at all. This book is simply a history of how psychology evolved. I'm listening to nothing but a boring lecture that gives me definitions of words I don't care about and on it goes. I tried 6 times to get ahead in the book and turned it off each time in frustration as I learned almost nothing of value about today's world. PLUS, I had to listen to how we torment animals in all our research along the way to gather that info and that bothered me a great deal as well.
I love the study of human behavior, but this simply took a lot of my time for nothing in return is what I found. I would not recommend this book at all.

Nothing like I thought.

I had a very difficult time making it to the end it was so bad. It's only about half about Amazon and all the rest is about every company in the world I never heard of as she goes into depth about what other countries are doing. This is a terribly boring, un-interesting work and far more like a masters degree thesis rather than a commercially successful read and offering an interesting story.
The book has a clinical approach to it and uses tons and tons of inside industry words no one cares about or is interested in. All in it's a history of how people buy and how they MAY or MAY NOT buy in the future. Of course in all it's history, Amazon has never, EVER done one single thing wrong as a company so the book ends up being a long paid commercial for a company that as we know hasn't been as honest and forth right as we all thought it was going to be or wanted it to be. I would never recommend this book i'm sorry to say.

Can't get past third chapter it's so poor.

First of all, I think Trump is a greedy, lying, thieving human being but still the president. I'm sorry we had only two rotten human beings to vote for, but the author of this book does the worst hatchet job I ever read about a guy that he provides little to no facts about. He simply hates Trump for whatever reason. He uses the most vulgar language in everything he writes and seems exactly like the same arrogant, pushy, obnoxious person he claims Trump is. I bought the book to hear facts and not revenge for some unknown act this author is paying Trump back for. According to Wilson, Trump has never done one good thing in his entire life so when I know that, I can't listen anymore as everyone does some good and some bad things in their life. Couple that with writing like you just got out of jail and angry at the system with every four letter example of being a thug you can think of ....I have to return this and move on to another read from more credible sources. TERRIBLE un-listenable book.

Wonderful read.

This is one of the best books I've read and that number is around 1,000 now yet this one stands out as only a few do. I wish Sally would know she does great things to help make this world a bit nicer place but my guess is she'll always have little confidence in herself and worry about the others in her life while failing to give herself the credit due when someone is that selfless.
She writes honestly and the literary beauty flows out effortlessly and straight into my heart to move me to tears as I grew up with drugged up alcoholic parents who's abuse left me the gifts of anxiety, depression, fears and phobias that I used to at least win tons of awards, yet always felt alone, empty and afraid all my life.
She's written a wonderful piece and I pray God bless's her and gives her peace.

Here's a man that knows how to write, but even better knows how to get along with people. I wish I had his wonderful talent. This is one of the better books I've read about going into outer space and working in that environment as well. A very good read.

I didn't really enjoy this like I wanted to as so much of it was about his mountain climbing escapades rather than space travels.The author never wins my empathy over or makes me care at all in the entire read and the reason is this. I have little compassion for some selfish, self centered egocentric boy that builds a family, only to leave them for months at a time because of not only his job, but also his self imposed hobby that are both all about him.To think someone cares so little about their kids and spouse they'd needlessly risk their lives time after time after time and cost the family all it's money, just so he can feel good about his masculinity is outrageous to me. Why be married to someone that's never their either physically or mentally ever at all. He's either gone or planing on being gone his entire life. The space parts were never in depth enough with the personnel feelings or thoughts that would have made it a far better read to me. The book left me cold...just like the space he lived in for months and years at a time.

Wonderful book

I simply loved the book and thought it's perhaps the best self-help book I ever read. I felt the narration was very poor and couldn't understand many words spoken by the author. I think it was all "ego" to have narrated this extraordinary piece of self-help wisdom and should have been left to someone with a soothing relaxing voice.

With that said, It's difficult to express just how great the material is and the research developed as well as the brilliant mind this man has to make it all work together.
The book is mostly about the loss of his son to be honest, and yet trying to get "back to happy" is a large issue here as well. It's either that or kill yourself from the grief I guess and he made the decision to honor his son and help others in the process. I sometimes sit back and imagine what it must be like to be this smart and yet still be full of compassion and love for others. What a great and honorable man. I wish the world had many men like this that felt driven to change the world for better rather the riches that does almost no one any good at all. This book, I truly believe can change lives and worth all your time to read or listen to it.

Wonderful Read.

I was really skeptical about this as I've already read a dozen books about Arnold Palmer and what could anyone have new to say that I hadn't heard or read before, but I bought it with hope anyhow.
The amazing thing is that almost nothing was old and recycled from newspapers or other books like most other authors use and almost all of it was fresh and wonderful and for me...touching as well.
If your looking for tabloid dirt, this isn't your book, but he draws on many peoples dealings with the legend Mr. Palmer in their own words and he does a great job of showing the many sides of Arnold that some people may not know.
I met my hero at the Masters tournament and he is EXACTLY what everyone says about him and his kindness to others. Arnold has served as a role model for me and in the process made me a far better human being. I strongly recommend this book to anyone that wants to read about how many of us SHOULD lead our lives and be kinder to others along the way. EXCELLENT BOOK.

Not Good at all for me.

I wanted to love the book and find it healing and yet I found it anything but that. The word "HEALING" even appears in the title and I found almost no evidence of that what-so-ever.
The entire book it seems is dedicated to IDENTIFYING the children of alcoholics and we already KNEW THAT to start with when we bought the book.
This is simply a giant collection of what children go through that had the misfortune of growing up with that type of parent and some stories of therapy about drawing pictures of your childhood and making a bracelet and so forth that I find worthless for myself.
The speaker is totally void of any emotions in her narration and it becomes boring listening to her with her clinical approach to everything, but even that I could endure if some real precepts of healing would have been discovered.
I wasted my money on this one and it's just another self-help dead end.

Wonderful Read.

I've read hundreds of books over the years and I must say that self-help books in general are 95% foolishness and do nothing to improve someones life really but they do make other rich off our hard earned cash.

Michael Singers books are the exception to this and for me this is one of the top 5 books I've ever read. The book is wonderful in all aspects and written with a Buddhist flare added to the central Yoga framework, but I think it's simply another way of talking about God really.
The universe in this book is another word for my God to me and that's how I interpreted it.

It's a nice way to live if you can do it, especially in this society and the concept has been around for a thousand years but can we simply let go of everything that ever happens to us without ever dealing with any emotions about it? I can't for sure, nor do I think I wish to act like that, but I could do a much much better job of letting most things go and not letting bigger things get me down and all that starts with controlling the voice inside our heads that gives meaning to what just happened to us. That voice spins every detail of our lives endlessly and often applies negative aspects to those events, but with training, we can give the events a much more positive flavor and subsequently be happier every day of our lives.
I loved both of his great books.
