Story
We live in a culture of casual certitude. This has always been the case, no matter how often that certainty has failed. Though no generation believes there's nothing left to learn, every generation unconsciously assumes that what has already been defined and accepted is (probably) pretty close to how reality will be viewed in perpetuity. And then, of course, time passes. Ideas shift. Opinions invert. What once seemed reasonable eventually becomes absurd, replaced by modern perspectives that feel even more irrefutable and secure - until, of course, they don't.

Story
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

Compelling story in monotone

I’ve often said, authors don’t make good narrators. This is a perfect example. Great story told in a monotone voice. Could be so much better with a talented narrator.

I’m excited to see what comes next for Attlee Pine. Great story, captivating plot, and effective character creation. I’ve read other Baldacci novels and they took me some time before grabbing me. This series however grabs you within the first paragraph making you think, “ok, tell me more.”
Great work here and highly recommended!

In 1803, President Thomas Jefferson selected his personal secretary, Captain Meriwether Lewis, to lead a voyage up the Missouri River, across the forbidding Rockies, and - by way of the Snake and the Columbia rivers - down to the Pacific Ocean. Lewis and his partner, Captain William Clark, endured incredible hardships and witnessed astounding sights. With great perseverance, they worked their way into an unexplored West. When they returned two years later, they had long since been given up for dead.

Liked the overall story, however I got lost in the detail and trying to understand how to connect the dots of the chapters leading up to the journey.
The conclusion was quite surprising and I didn’t know that’s how he lived his last days.

A calming effect
Reviewed: 02-24-19
Initially I thought I had made a mistake when I ordered this book. However, as I read further I realized I really was enjoying this story. Then I noticed, that the story had a calming effect on me. It takes you back to a time where people were courteous, kind, and interested in each other more than them selves. The ending is quite a surprise and leaves some to your imagination. Strongly recommend!

Flowers is only in his late 30's, but he's been around the block a few times, and he doesn't think much can surprise him anymore. He's wrong. It's a hot, humid summer night in Minnesota, and Flowers is in bed with one of his ex-wives (the second one , if you're keeping count ) when the phone rings. It's Lucas Davenport. There's a body in Stillwater, two shots to the head, found near a veterans' memorial. And the victim has a lemon in his mouth.

Court delivers Bianca Medina to the rebels, but his job doesn't end there. She soon reveals that she has given birth to a son, the only heir to Azzam's rule - and a potent threat to the Syrian president's powerful wife. Story
Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett reveals the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government and exposes their nefarious actions during and after the 2016 election. This audiobook reveals how persons within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department worked improperly to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. When this suspected effort failed, those same people appear to have pursued a contrived investigation of President Trump in an attempt to undo the election results and remove him as president.

Great read, sad truth

This book is easy to listen and to understand. Jarrett lays everything out on the table and then examines each topic methodically. The sad truth is that these culprits are still doing the evil portrayed here. I’m waiting for justice to prevail.
