Story
For a family with four kids, two dogs, assorted cats, and a constant stream of family and friends dropping by, life in the Austin family home has always been remarkably steady and contented. When a family friend suddenly dies in a plane crash, the Austins open their home to an orphaned girl, Maggy Hamilton. The Austin children - Vicky, John, Suzy, and Rob - do their best to be generous and welcoming to Maggy. Vicky knows she should feel sorry for Maggy, but having sympathy for Maggy is no easy thing.

Overall this was a very charming book. I truly enjoyed it and it had a wonderful ending. The dog totally made the entire book. Loved the characters. However, I woud have loved to have seen more fairies do more or the one have more missions. Still, you can't go wrong. It was really good. Narration was excellent

Just when I think Catherine Ryan Hyde can't get any better, so comes up with this. WOW! This tugs at every possible emotion inside of you. It is so tender and so sad and yet happy and just sooo fantastic. I love all kinds of genres and I'm all over the place with different stories. But anytime I feel I need something extra fantastic, I always come back to this author. She's one of the most talented I know. This one is a tear jerker. She always finds the best authors as well and this was an extra treat for me as these two happen to be my favorite narraotors. You will struggle to stop listening this one.

This book was brilliant. So original. Captured me from the very beginning to the end. This was my first Gordon Korman book. Such talent. It's categorized as a children's book, however, I'm a grandmother and I just loved it. It tugged on my heart strongs and was such an adventure. Narration was great also. I'm not big on several narrators and I'll admit that's my only critique. I would have preferred one or two and no more. However, it wasn't enough to knock this down below five stars. Michael Crouch is a huge favorite of mine and one of the reasons I decided to purchase thing. Just a great book!!
