Story
It's fair to say my best friend Mat and I are looking for trouble when we head out for a wild night on the town, and boy, do we find it. We find it in the form of Trouble, a guy with long, silky black hair, doe eyes, and thick, fleshy lips. Sweat glitters down his spine, and he moves like there's music in his soul. Every eye in the place is on him. He's magnetic. The second we see him, we want him. We both do. Suddenly, the fact we thought we were straight doesn't seem all that important. Trouble turns our lives upside down.

Lots of steamy scenes and very little else. Pretty disappointing after the first book which was brilliantly narrated. Same narrators here fall flat because the two dude bro characters are boring. It’s just “fine” overall. Nothing compelling here.

Story
I'm trapped in the middle of nowhere with the sexiest man I've ever seen... what could possibly go wrong? My family sent me here thinking it would help lift my mood. When I think about it now, I realise I didn’t give nearly enough thought to what it would be like, or what I’d be doing on a farm. If anything, I had a vague, nebulous notion that it would be like some sort of retreat. Boy, was I wrong. Far from relaxing, I now find myself tending to actual sheep. If you knew me at all, you’d know how preposterous that is.

Catching feelings was never part of the plan. Taking in Kason Fuller as roommate is meant to be a favor; one I regret immediately. The bumbling, virgin football player drives me to the brink of sanity—stealing my food, my sleep, my peace, and solitude. My solution? Call a ceasefire.

Progressively Worse
Reviewed: 05-20-25
The first book in this series was amazing. REALLY good. I’ve listened to it a dozen times. Second was fine but didn’t compare. This one was an eye roller. Makes me wonder if CE Ricci actually wrote it… did they hire it out? Writing was so cheesy… I lost count of how many times the phrase, “… eyebrows crashing together…” was used. Language was too flowery in weird places where it wasn’t necessary and then basic in key moments. Seriously, whoever hired the editor who worked on this book should be fired… along with the editor. 👎🏻👎🏻 I won’t be bothering with the next in this series.
Christian Fox is a God. He can narrate assembly instructions.

Story
I'm stuck in an uptown lobby while my dreams of making it as a model in New York hang by a single thread. Meanwhile, Olivier Arnaud lives his best life as a useless socialite, flaunting his wealth, his looks, and his privilege. His gaze taunts, and his nightly, condescending smirks burrow deep beneath my skin where I simmer with bitterness and hate. The day he asks me to deliver his mail directly to his twelfth-floor penthouse, he makes it personal, and the thread snaps—violently. With my hand around his neck, I feel alive for the first time in months.

Story
It's official: my step bro is the biggest himbo ever to himbo. He's a massive blond beefcake with a soft heart and an over-eager smile. The mere sight of him incites a shaking hot rage in me. He's everywhere. He's around me all the time. So sweet and gentle that it makes me feel wild. I see him and smell him everywhere. When I can't see him or smell him, I hear him. The wall between our bedrooms is paper thin. I can't help it—I hear what he does in his room when he thinks he's alone. I hear everything.

I’ve never heard this narrator prior to this book. He was EVERYTHING. The story itself is simple and direct. But the book is magic because you feel every word that Ellis Evans breathes into Jesse’s character. Sweet story with exceptional performance. Loved it.

Nate Singer is one of the good guys. As team captain, Nate’s whole deal is sticking to the playbook, supporting his team, and keeping his own issues buried. Especially since the team is finally winning, due in no small part to his chemistry with one particular hotshot teammate. Zach Reed has a bad-boy reputation. And it’s cost him. Zach’s past exploits landed him on the worst team in the league. But that also gave him the best friend he’s ever had. For three years, his friendship with Nate has grown, making them an intimidating duo on the ice—and forming an intense bond off of it as well.

Story
When Caleb Chance walked out in Detroit five years ago, leaving his band, millions of his fans and his lover behind, Leo knew he could never forgive. Some things, no matter what the cause, are unforgivable. But Leo never expected Caleb to show up again, clean and sober and wanting to get their band, Star Shadow, back together. He definitely never expected to agree to Caleb's plan. He never expected to confront the love of his life again - or the disaster of his past, the hopelessness of his future, and every terrible thing he's been carrying inside him.

Love Kirt Graves
Reviewed: 07-21-24
The book itself is a little bit cliche, specifically the too long paintball scene that was trying too hard to be symbolic but just came off as an eye roller. But, overall, I liked the low angst story, even if the burn was too slow. The 5 star review is really for Kirt Graves who has become one of my favorite narrators. He made the overly obvious parts of the storyline work, narrating in a way that makes the slight hyperbole seem like part of the character’s personality. A less skilled narrator probably couldn’t have managed that nuance.

Story
Ever since Clay Saxon's parents passed away a year ago, he's been stuck in a rut, running their business, and suffering from the worst writer's block ever. But when Syrus Albie, a.k.a. yellow sweater guy (you'll see), walks into The End Book Store, Clay's mundane little world turns to sunshine. I don't want to ruin it, but I can definitely say, when an introverted-as-hell narrator finally meets his favorite author and crush, all of his usual protocols go up in flames.

Story
For the last three years, I've lived and breathed hockey with one goal: team captain. There's only one thing standing in my way. TJ Beckett. Beck is irresponsible and immature, and I've hated him since the moment we met freshman year. Yet the coaches see something in him I obviously can't, and they refuse to choose between us. The captain spot is going to a team vote. And the team thinks that what we need are a bunch of challenges to prove our worth.
