Publisher's summary

Jacobs:

For the last three years, I've lived and breathed hockey with one goal: team captain. There's only one thing standing in my way. TJ Beckett.

Beck is irresponsible and immature, and I've hated him since the moment we met freshman year. Yet the coaches see something in him I obviously can't, and they refuse to choose between us. The captain spot is going to a team vote. And the team thinks that what we need are a bunch of challenges to prove our worth. Challenges that have nothing to do with hockey. Challenges that are throwing me and Beck together. And he's still as infuriating as ever.

Beck:

I have no idea why Christopher Jacobs hates me, and I can't say I care. I like pushing his buttons, but the guy needs to loosen up.

I'm going to win these stupid challenges easily and spend my senior year as hockey king on this campus. Tormenting Jacobs at the same time will just be a bonus. Even if I'm getting confusing feelings toward him, I won't let it hold me back. When it comes to competing, I'm all in, and nothing will get between me and the W.

Contains mature themes.

Loved It.

Loved it and want more in the series, honestly didn’t think I would have enjoyed this as much as Grant and Seth but I just loved Beck, his cockiness was perfect... this will definitely be a repeat for me.

Loved this story!!!

Topher and his Teddy Bear were just too cute together. I loved the enemies to lovers trope of this, and how the rivalry for the captain spot forged a bond and connection between these two. This book was filled with sweet moments as well as heated ones and also sarcastic banter and I loved every bit of it. I’m unsure why I skipped this book in the series but I’m glad I ended up coming back to it. 5/5!

Started off being irritating

I was absolutely not thrilled with Beck and his rude attitude, and couldn't blame Jacobs for how he felt. But after a couple chapters and things start to show Becks true character and personality it got so good I finished it in a day.

As always, this is one of my favorite narrating Duo's and they are amazing as always. The writing is great and entertaining.

Seeing the characters from the previous book Grant and Zach was also sweet to see how their life is progressing.

Definitely an excellent listen.

Fantastic Series, Awesome Narrators!

Adorable! Enemies to lovers, perfectly done. I could have stood a bit more hockey, but there were some terrific moments here.

Audio beautifully performed by Alexander Cendese and Iggy Toma.

A fantastic take on the enemies to lovers trope

This is by far my favorite out of the CU Hockey series. Beck and Jacobs are the most chaotic and yet romantic pair! Besides the steamy sex and the hilarious banter, what I loved the most is there's not a ton of angsty pining that often plagues this genre. They realized really quickly that they have always worked well together and then proceeded to grow AS A COUPLE! That's couple's goals! That and the amount of support they have when coming out to their families and teammates is so heartening! I wish we got to see more of Beck and Jacobs in their future together. I know they return for brief cameos in the Puckboy series but it's nowhere near enough. I had really hoped the authors would do a finale of short stories like the Fake Boyfriends series.

I also think the medium vastly added to my enjoyment of the story. This narrator duo always embodies their characters and bring so much depth to their stories.

It's my favorite

I freaking love this book! I have listened to it twice, now on my third time. The first novel in this series was good, but this one is the best! Half way to the end I wanted to start back at the beginning. Enemies to lovers and the lack of gay stereotypes is awesome. I hate that crap, so this one is a must read or listen. Also I love the narration voices. They're so expressive and done so well. You can see the story, characters, and expressions so well. Again, I love it.!

Best Teammates to Lovers!

Beck and Jacob’s are everything! This book is teammates to lovers, kinda like an enemies to lovers, but unique in the delivery. There is so much fun and games in this, banter, and the first kiss was amazing and the spice was chefs kiss. It’s my favorite in this series so far! And the audiobook narrators are phenomenal!

Just easy enjoyment

Loved the couple. It was a happy and enjoyable listen with hot but well balanced couple time. Much better writing flow than some other authors. Plus narrations was good too

Jacobs & Beck

I loved Jacobs and Beck’s story. I've read and or listened a small handful of times and every time I come away loving it more. Iggy Toma and Alexander Cendese continue to own this series, and put together stellar narrations. They are nailing the fantastic witty banter these authors weave throughout the story. Jacobs and Becks story had a lot going for it for me from the start. The authors for one. Hockey, college age, first times, enemies to lovers, and all the awakenings to tie it all up in a neat bow. I enjoyed the competitive nature of both these men, both on and off the ice. In the quest to win the Captaincy of their college hockey team they participated in a series of “challenges” to prove their worth to their teammates. I really loved how their relationship from hate to love unfolded. I love how these two began to open up to each other. Each seeing each other for who they were, and not what they each assumed they were over the last 3 years of animosity towards each other. There were a lot of feelings unpacked for both of these guys, and I enjoyed all their firsts and more. I liked the direction that Beck went, and how their HEA unfolded.
