About this listen

To whom it may concern,

I can't be sure what you're into. That being said, if you like sexy and sweet romance with a whole lot of quirk, keep reading...

Ever since Clay Saxon's parents passed away a year ago, he's been stuck in a rut, running their business, and suffering from the worst writer's block ever. But when Syrus Albie, a.k.a. yellow sweater guy (you'll see), walks into The End Book Store, Clay's mundane little world turns to sunshine.

I don't want to ruin it, but I can definitely say, when an introverted-as-hell narrator finally meets his favorite author and crush, all of his usual protocols go up in flames.

Set in the For Him world, this stand-alone is the perfect introduction or addition to this steamy MM collection.

Sincerely yours,

A.M. Johnson

a deliciously sweet novella

This is a deliciously sweet novella with the main characters both being incredibly adorable. They are so likable, perceived flaws and all, that you can’t help but root for their HEA. This was a perfect addition to the For Him series. The narrators, Kirt Graves and Aaron Shellack, meshed well together and made this story even more enjoyable.

Fave of the Series

This whole series is great but this novella is my fave. The story is short but dense and dripping with imagery and emotion. Great writing and narration deserving of its characters. I don’t love spending money on novellas but I’d buy again in a heartbeat.

Clay and Syrus

This book is sweet. Clay is running the family bookstore business, since his parents past away. He is a writer in a slump, Syrus is a narrator who has a crush on his favourite author finds he runs the bookshop he is looking for research material, he is overjoyed. Very sweet and wonderfully narrated

Loved Syrus & Clay!

Have been anxiously await this sweet novella! Loved Syrus & Clay’s story. Syrus is an audiobook narrator who gets hired to narrate Clay’s novel. Little did they know where this pairing would lead them. Loved the vulnerability of the characters. Another amazing book. Amazing narration by Kirt Graves & Aaron Shedlock.

Terrific story and narrators

To Whom It May Concern is the first book or audiobook I have ready by A.M. Johnson. It is also book 3.5 in a series. I enjoyed it so much that I put book 1 on my to be read/listen list. I will also take a look at the author's back list for more books to add.

I liked the relationship between Clay and Syrus. It grew organically out of their shared interest, not just physical attraction. I like that people who know Syrus accept him and are not trying to "fix" him. Clay's grief was based in reality. He was so consumed by it that he had not moved forward from the point where it started. There was not anything I did not like.

The narrators were terrific. Kirt Graves is one of my favorites. He has narrated several series I love and what I consider the best audiobook is my collection (my huge, do I really need more, yes I do collection). Aaron Shedlock is a new narrator for me. He has over three hundred titles listed on Audible. I enjoyed his voice. I am going to look through it and select another one to listen to. The two voices together create a wonderful experience. It is very easy to differentiate which character is speaking. The voices they create also fit the characters well.

I am grateful to Gay Romance Reviews which gave me the opportunity to review this title.

Short, sweet, and a little bit spicy!

This was a short, sweet, little bit spicy story. I have a soft spot for characters who are or seem to be neurodivergent, and that was the impression I got about Syrus, I loved hearing about his frustrations and ultimate happiness with dating for the first time. Clay is a little sad but SO ready to experience love and connection again. Syrus’ cousin and fiancé cheering things on from the sidelines is also cute and funny. The only (small) criticism I have is that the person chosen for Syrus’ narrator did not seem to have the voice that was described for Syrus, I expected it to be deeper.

Cute story, Good Narration

I liked this story, light and sweet it was what I needed at the moment. This is new to me author and after listening to To Whom It May Concern I want to listen to all the other books in the series. Narrators did a good job, dual narration could go either way for me and I enjoyed that both narrators did such a good job with character voices and the story. Overall this was an enjoyable listening experience.

Short but delicious

A.M. Johnson does character building really well, which is an absolute must in a 2h 40m book. I think this story could have carried more words, more content, but I did enjoy it as it is. The way Cyrus and Clay take emotional chances for each other is really touching, and the way they accommodate each other resonates with my own relationship. Recommend!

So sweet!

Even though I read this not even 2 months ago, I had to do a reread and listen to the audiobook, because hello- Aaron Shedlock! I'd listen to that man read the White Pages, his grocery list, the back of a cereal box. He and Kirt Graves were wonderful as Clay and Syrus, I need more!

My review from my first read-
Ahh, this novella was the sweetest! Syrus and Clay are both adorable and I loved them. They're each a little vulnerable in their own ways and I just wanted to hug and love on them both. Loved the idea of the author and the narrator developing a relationship. I thought it was so cute how Clay and Syrus met and the sweet friendship that started, before becoming so much more. I hope we see these two again!
Although this is part of the For Him series, To Whom It May Concern can definitely be read as a standalone, and read it you should!
