Story
Cotton Malone is on the hunt for a forgotten 16th century Pledge of Christ—a sworn promise made by Pope Julius II that evidences a monetary debt owed by the Vatican, still valid after five centuries—now worth in the trillions of dollars. But collecting that debt centers around what happened to the famed Medici of Florence—a family that history says died out, without heirs, centuries ago. Who will become the next prime minister of Italy, and who will be the next pope? Finding answers proves difficult until Cotton realizes that everything hinges on when, and if, the Medici return.

Just a lot of noise without much of a plot. I don't really like Scott Brick but I have listened to him in order to hear Steve Berry books. This on is so much talk and very little action. Please do better next time.

Story
In the glitzy, gritty underbelly of 1980s Los Angeles, a chilling series of murders left the city gripped with fear. Six small-time actors and actresses met brutal ends; their bodies grotesquely posed in scenes from the films that had given them their fleeting fame. The Hollywood Strangler evaded capture, leaving behind only a trace of DNA and a legacy of terror. Decades later, the case remains ice-cold, a favorite for true-crime aficionados but a nightmare for detectives.

I've read all three books in the series and look forward to the next. I do wish that there was a little less "soap opera" content involving the characters but the genealogy process is fascinating to me.

When he finally answers, his rage shatters the calm of their quiet Sunday morning.

Same old story rehashed

I have listened to this entire series but cannot continue. It feels like the same old plot that I have heard too many times already. The new narrator fails to give life to the characters. I just don't care what happens anymore.
