I love hearing a good French accent. Cosham nailed it! As a bonus, all of the British people were spoken with a British accent. 😄 Overall, extremely well read. Awesome story.

Based loosely on Louisa May Alcott's own upbringing, Little Women follows the lives of four sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy March. Each girl has a vision of what their ideal future will bring, though ultimately experiencing, as most young do, something completely different. Little Women, originally written as two volumes, was a great commercial success and is considered one of the most widely read American novels.

The voices were well done, although the speaking was a little slow. I sped it up a bit. I loved every minute! The chapters were synced with the paper version do I could seamlessly alternate between them or find passages to mark.

Captivated and disconcerted by what she finds, and introduced to the joys of "Gothic novels" by her new friend, Isabella, Catherine longs for mystery and romance. Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again.... The novel begins in Monte Carlo, where our heroine is swept off her feet by the dashing widower Maxim de Winter and his sudden proposal of marriage. Orphaned and working as a lady's maid, she can barely believe her luck. The performance by Anna Massey was brilliant! I alternated between my kindle and the audiobook, only reading when I couldn’t listen. I also give the plot five stars. I love a good page-turner mystery. I took a star off the story because of the profanity. It was sparse in the beginning, picking up to excessive by the end. I’m afraid it spoiled the book a bit for me. If you like dark classics, give this one a try.
