So far fetched…

Ridiculous story. I won’t give the plot away, so I’ll just simply say absolutely absurd. Complete waste of my time and credit. I will never pick a book again because it’s on Reese Witherspoon‘s list.

Too many characters to keep up audibly at first. Could not stand the one narrator’s voice. And just too far-fetched. Save your credit or your money and find another book.

Too repetitive
Reviewed: 02-10-25
Okay story, but how many times can the same people be taken hostage and how many times will people who matter to DCI Jack Logan be taken?? This was way too repetitive. The one and the last DCI Jack Logan really have a lack of new scenarios. Come on JD Kirk (Barry Hutchinson), put more effort into it.

Predictable and impossible to believe
Reviewed: 02-05-25
This book started out really good, but quickly became fully predictable and impossible to believe because people that have spent their lives, hiding things and deceiving others are not suddenly going to spill the beans to people they hardly know.

Could be half as long and the narrator sounds like she is asking questions… I rarely quit a book before the end. I am a new widow and the noise helps. But this one is so bad, I could not handle anymore.

Story
Buckhead isn’t a place you live, it’s a place you survive. And that applies even to the wealthy housewives that have it all. Fancy cars, designer clothes, and daily salon appointments aren’t nearly enough to keep them fulfilled and happy. Because in this town, privilege and opulence go hand in hand with betrayal and revenge. Jenny, the owner of Glow, an exclusive membership-only beauty salon, knows that better than anyone, because she knows everything about these housewives—down to each individual strand of hair.

Didn’t care for the sexually explicit parts.

I don’t prefer to read soft porn or about lesbian sexual encounters. I don’t want to hear about anyone’s intimate moments. I have gay friends, a transgender nephew whom I love, and lesbian relatives that I also love very much…but I don’t want to hear about any of their love-making, it is a personal, private thing. I think it’s sad that such a wonderful act of love has been made into a commonplace thing in our world.
