I loved listening about their love

Friends to lovers fake romances are so fun. I loved the mash-up. I loved looking into the world of cosplay through this author's eyes because otherwise I wouldn't have had that perspective. I was here for the drama but I was ticked off too. I enjoy a good story that includes a characters who's been "invited to the picnic." What a gut wrenching writeup of Kenya's parents' character! There's plenty a foreplay and just a tiny bit of spice, but the chemistry and witty banter is what kept me going. Seeing they both wanted the same thing but could see them both being the reason they wouldn't end up with what they deserve kept me hooked. I had to find out finalist! Great job Seressia on the book. The narrator had an amazing voice. I just didn't get the feeling for deciphering the characters very well. However, the author wrote this very well that I didn't get lost in the script. And there were times when the narrator's tone and breaths and pauses were on point, and brought some culture out of the piece just where it needed to be.

I didn't read the subtitle before I started to listen to the book. So funny. I'm sitting here with Reagan's family and the MCs combined friends saying "poor kids. They don't even see it." And so, this witty banter between these two best friends is absolutely adorable. Reagan's nerdiness is pretty hot once you add it all up. So of course I want to know how they pull it off. 2 chapters in, and I was vested. After reading the whole story, I'm convinced it's a romcom worth listening to. The "chemistry" is disgustingly adorable and off the charts.

Story
Hannah Martin has an unusual job: she's a professional cuddler. While she has a big heart for her clients, she hasn't found someone special to snuggle up to in her personal life. Winter Sullivan isn't looking for love. She's an aloof workaholic who's built walls of ice around herself. She would rather drive toothpicks under her fingernails than cuddle, and she certainly doesn't want to share her space with anyone. When Winter's estranged father dies, he leaves her one last surprise: she and Hannah, a perfect stranger, will inherit a building together.

This was a great break from the types of sapphic novels I've been reading. It's high on intimacy and bringing appreciation to basic human touch and connection. I really enjoyed the message and how Winter and Hanna navigated a forced proximity arrangement to get to an end goal. Hannah seems like a strong constant or anchor even with all of the changes around her. We are all hoping for Winter to break through, right? It seems to be a journey to see what that would look like. I also learned about aphantasia, and am very grateful for the author's notes at the end of the audiobook. It truly makes this an even more special audiobook on my digital bookshelf to admire. I love the choices Abby Craden choose for these characters. Thanks Jae, for this gem.

This was a good book. I've read parts of it twice. It's one of those books where you keep waiting for justice, waiting things to go right, and the main characters stealing every moment possible to get by until that happens. It's not my top book, but it's got something going for me that has me going back to listen to how this story where now one is quite in the right plays out. I haven't listened to many books read by Lois Ridge. Lois created amazing voices for the main and supporting characters for this book.

The cover makes you want to know the story

So. The book cover, authors and narrator really had me wanting to know how they managed to pull the book off. It's borderline hot and steamy. It seemed medium spice to me. But it's a compelling story. One of those rich family exec complications. The way the story plays out seems better than any of the ones I've read before (not the book itself, but how deep they dig into how ruthless the family members are to each other.) It's up there if not surpasses Ensnared Hearts, Under a Falling Star and Next in Line for Love. These two MCs are interestingly and brilliantly matched.

OH! It's that Bridget! That's pretty much what I said at the end of chapter 1. I have really enjoyed this Indigo Series. To truly this book, I recommend reading Indigo: Blues before or after this book. Indigo: Three is also a great book to read before or after this. I'm prepared to reread this whole series. It's sometimes hard to get past how the attraction grows and rushes throughout the book. However, I love how the author builds a main character like Jherica to see just the person behind Bridget's current challenges. It's fun and hot to watch. For me, the coming up story worked me up a bit. The author just did an amazing job of building a strong story around it. The teasing and history between Bridget and Eli's life and family really compliments and makes the book as well.

Amazing buildup for a hot and romantic story
Reviewed: 01-07-25
This might be my stop book of the month. It's in the perspective of one person, and it works. The slow burn works because the author builds up to romance, as other things like trust, companionship, dependability, and more are beautifully built upon. I sometimes struggle to put a book down because I'm fighting to get to the romance, but with this book I got so many tiny moments of gratification. I love how we learn about the characters bit by bit. I've already read the second book. This series is totally worth it. I can't remember how hot and steamy this particular book was, but between the two books, it was everything.

Just as shocking was Jules's realization that she was falling hard for Vivian . . . and that the feeling was mutual.

Talk about the perfect blend of drama, comedy, steamy moments, and real case scenarios. I accidentally started to read this before reading Truth and Measure. Trust me - you have to read this in order. Read this book second. The series is worth it. It was fun watching the drama around Vivian's career, the pregnancy, and Jules' life play out. Despite the hard times, the author was amazing in adding in jokes despite tough situations. It was perfect. Not to mention the gift of Abby Craden reading the book out to us.

How many of us realized early on what was going on and just waited to see how the whole thing would unfold? I've been waiting to run into another book read by Angela Dawe and it was everything. I've really enjoyed Roslyn 's books so far. I'd definitely listen to this book again. If you are looking for adorable or steamy hot, you will get both. For me it was a great story of wanting, and of wanting to be wanted. As a Star Trek fan, I really enjoyed envisioning parts of the star ship and making the story come to life for me, including the arboretum. It gave me DS9 vibes. The power exchange over and over again was great. Team Assistant here. Just biding my time.

Second book I could follow well in this series
Reviewed: 12-21-24
The writer uses time gaps to make the story lines more believable. It was still rushed for me, but I appreciated the theme enough to stick with the structure of the story, I suppose. It's possible that the more you read the series, the easier it is to listen to the stories. Although these could be standalone, it's probably easier to take in this series and add to your imagination if you start from the beginning.
