Story
One day, Stan and Jan Berenstain were captured by a family of bears. It was a family of three - an overenthusiastic Papa whose high opinion of himself was exceeded only by his ability to do silly things (often placing himself in jeopardy from bees, skunks, low-hanging branches, whales, irate farmers, etc.) a wise, steady Mama with a firm grip on reality, and a bright enterprising little boy cub.

Beginning of a bad trend
Reviewed: 04-06-24
This may have been the beginning of a very bad trend in our culture of making fun of fathers. Papa Bear looks foolish and inept in everything he does. I play stories for my grandchildren when we are driving back and forth to school and Mommy’s house. (30 minutes) There are much better stories available to teach them good life lessons without sacrificing the dignity of their parents.

Story
With passion and purpose, Greg Laurie and Ellen Vaughn tell the amazing true story of the Jesus Movement, an extraordinary time of mass revival, renewal, and reconciliation. Setting fascinating personal stories within the context of one of the most tumultuous times in modern history, the authors draw important parallels with our own time of spiritual apathy or outright hostility, offering hope for the next generation of unlikely believers - and for the next great American revival.

I watched the Jesus Revolution last week. I was compelled to go and I am so glad I did. I am a child of the 70’s and it brought back so many happy memories. I wanted to dig deeper into the history of the Jesus movement and someone told me about this book. It answered many questions that I had. I felt that it was very well written and in a way that was honest about the good and bad, the successes and failures of the people involved, after all we are all human and we all struggle to “live up to the high calling of Christ”

Story
At just under five feet tall, Virginia Prodan was no match for the towering six-foot-ten-inch, gun-wielding assassin the Romanian government sent to her office to take her life. It was not the first time her life had been threatened - nor would it be the last. As a young attorney under Nicolae Ceausescu's brutal communist regime, Virginia had spent her entire life searching for the truth.

This true story kept me engaged throughout. Even when I knew that she would survive, I never knew exactly how God would work out the details. Her faithfulness and courage are an inspiration to Christians throughout the world. As the days of Christ’s return get closer and the world grows darker, this story becomes even more meaningful. I am so glad that I read it (listened).

This book is even more relevant today than the day it was written. We can see even more things unfolding in the world that we could not have fathomed only 4 years ago. Amir relates the current events to the prophecies from both the Old and New Testaments. God does not want His children to be confused or afraid of what must come.

Story
McCullough's John Adams has the sweep and vitality of a great novel. This is history on a grand scale, an audiobook about politics, war, and social issues, but also about human nature, love, religious faith, virtue, ambition, friendship, and betrayal, and the far-reaching consequences of noble ideas. Above all, it is an enthralling, often surprising story of one of the most important and fascinating Americans who ever lived.

This book was long but read in segments over time, It gave me insight into the way our country was conceived and built. Using the actual words of our founding fathers we can understand why our constitution was written as it was, and the sacrifices that were made by these people for our benefit. It was a special time and John Adams was a remarkable man.
