About this listen

A special audio containing 11 favorite Berenstain Bears stories!

One day, Stan and Jan Berenstain were captured by a family of bears.

It was a family of three - an overenthusiastic Papa whose high opinion of himself was exceeded only by his ability to do silly things (often placing himself in jeopardy from bees, skunks, low-hanging branches, whales, irate farmers, etc.) a wise, steady Mama with a firm grip on reality, and a bright enterprising little boy cub.

For nearly 40 years, the Berenstains' delightfully enchanting stories of this trio have charmed children, and now they can enjoy them listening to the authors read the best of their hilarious tales.

This special audio includes:

The Bears' Vacation
The Bears' Picnic
Bears in the Night
The Bear Scouts
The Big Honey Hunt
The Bears' New Baby
The Bears' Christmas
The Bike Lesson
The Bear Detectives
He Bear, She Bear
The Bears' Almanac

If your kids get bored in the car, they will really enjoy listening to this audiobook in the car. Very cute!

Great for a car trip

My son loves the Berenstain Bears books we have but this recording is difficult to understand. I would not recommend it, especially if you like to listen in the car.

Not a clear recording

Wish I could return this one. 10 minutes into it and my kids and I were bored silly. The narration is terrible.

Really bad

These stories mainly poke fun at an incompetent father with a wining child -- not something I want my children learning from!

Wining and complaining

This may have been the beginning of a very bad trend in our culture of making fun of fathers. Papa Bear looks foolish and inept in everything he does. I play stories for my grandchildren when we are driving back and forth to school and Mommy’s house. (30 minutes) There are much better stories available to teach them good life lessons without sacrificing the dignity of their parents.

We really, really like the Berenstain Bears at our house, but the voices are annoying! Brother's voice was just wrong. I read these with more feeling.

Not that great

The story has many sound effects and did not help the children sleep. It starts off with loud music and is to over stimulating for a bedtime story

The vocal performances were engaging. However, half the time you can’t hear them, and the other half they’re blasting your eardrums cause you just turned up the volume to hear it. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much you turn it up, you still can’t hear because the (completely unnecessary) music is too loud.

Speaking of music: it’s bad. I was doing okay until the recorder tracks came on, then my jaw just about hit the floor that someone really thought that the music sounded okay??? Recorders never sound great but this had some really rough notes.

I got through maybe 6 stories, and the stories weren’t great in terms of translating to audio. One I had to skip entirely because it made no sense whatsoever without pictures (I guess I’m assuming pictures would’ve helped). It should NOT have been included in an audio collection. In contrast, the Values and Virtues treasury was awesome as audio only.

Overall this is a mess.

Poor sound quality and bad music
