Story
Nothing can keep fated Ones apart, not even distance. Especially not when you’re the son of the created warlock. Arthur was ready to find his forever mate—his one and only other half. He was the firstborn of the created warlock and knew he had big shoes to fill. He just needed his One by his side, and he hoped that in doing so, he could get the thoughts of pretty blue eyes out of his mind, for Patrick wasn’t meant to be his. Patrick wanted away from his parents more than he wanted anything else. They were trying to force a mating that he knew was wrong.

The first time I went looking for Kym, it was because he was a relative of a murder victim I was investigating. Every time after that? It was because I realized he was my mate. For the first time in my long existence, I'd found something more important than my work. But with children getting kidnapped and an evil unlike I'd ever seen growing stronger, my realm and my king needed me more than ever.

Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. Havoc is handsome, mysterious, and somehow, my closest companion, even if we don’t always get along.

When he gets offered the position of head ranger in Flathead National Forest, he’s hesitant at first, but his bear all but demands he go. He learned long ago to always listen to the cranky beast, so he agrees. Never did he expect that his Kodiak was telling him he’d find his fated mate there, but the cute, little warlock smells like theirs.

While Eve examines a fresh body in Washington Square Park, her husband, Roarke, spots a man among the onlookers he’s known since his younger days on the streets of Dublin. A man who claims to be his half brother. A man who kills for a living - and who burns with hatred for him. Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse - resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune - would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful.

Story
I’m rather used to the crazy cases, because let’s face it, most cops can handle the run-of-the-mill with their eyes closed. I’m only called in when the situation is weird or they need to solve the case fast. This case is a little of both. Someone’s attacking women as they get off of work, hitting them in the back of the head. What started as a case of battery has steadily built up to homicide. With three murders, six victims, and no leads, the Clarksville PD is desperate to catch the assailant. But there’s no real leads for us to follow, either....

I love this series about, psychics, finding friends, falling in love and catching the bad guys 💕 I will say that although the story is awesome, Lloyd Thomas does not due justice to it. The first book was read by Kenneth Obi. His voices and characters are far superior, so this was a bit disappointing from a listening perspective. Still a well written story overall.

Story
Take a man and strip him of his ability to feel compassion, empathy, remorse, or any of the emotions that make him human, but leave the ones that ignite rage and aggression and you have the perfect killing machine - now imagine two of them. Code names Ex and Meridian are synonymous for "guaranteed death" to international terrorists. Two broken men from the same crooked streets, recruited into an unsanctioned government program that few know about. Trained to operate most efficiently - lethally - together.
