About this listen

In the new novel in the number-one New York Times best-selling series, Lt. Eve Dallas is about to walk into the shadows of her husband’s dangerous past....

While Eve examines a fresh body in Washington Square Park, her husband, Roarke, spots a man among the onlookers he’s known since his younger days on the streets of Dublin. A man who claims to be his half brother. A man who kills for a living - and who burns with hatred for him.

Eve is quick to suspect that the victim’s spouse - resentful over his wife’s affair and poised to inherit her fortune - would have happily paid an assassin to do his dirty work. Roarke is just as quick to warn her that if Lorcan Cobbe is the hitman, she needs to be careful. Law enforcement agencies worldwide have pursued this cold-hearted killer for years, to no avail. And his lazy smirk when he looked Roarke’s way indicates that he will target anyone who matters to Roarke...and is confident he’ll get away with it.

Eve is desperate to protect Roarke. Roarke is desperate to protect Eve. And together, they’re determined to find Cobbe before he finds them - even if it takes them across the Atlantic, far outside Eve’s usual jurisdiction....

Awesome! 💀💀💀💀💀

Go Team NYPSD!
JD Robb strikes again. Five skulls rating.
Lorcan Cobb is a contract killer with a penchant for stickers. His history with Roarke goes back to the alleyways of Dublin.
Cobb has a serious hate on for everything Roarke is and all he has.
When he arrives in NYC... (spoilers deleted). 😁

another good one

loved it. one of the best 'in death" so far. narration excellent as always! keep hoping one day a tv series will be made from them but can't think of a single actor who could play Rorke! can't think of a single man who would fit the description....and he'd have to or it would ruin everything. Sinner and Saint, Angel and Devil.

The performance could have been much better I couldn’t tell who she was trying to be

Comment on Shadows in Death

I been reading books for years, but I have to say I've been disappointed with the foul language that is used more and more with each book. The books were better without it.

J.D.Robb keeps me coming back. Her characters are interesting and they grow, which is very enjoyable.

Outstanding!

I rarely write book reviews, but this one is definitely worth a review. From word one I was captivated, from the moment Roarke laid eyes on Lorcan, I was addicted! It was a vicious game of cat and mouse, with Lorcan going after two of the most formidable opponents on or off planet.

The suspense was nerve-racking, the chase was intense, and when Eve's entire team, including McNab, Feeney, AND Commander Whitney banded together to go after Cobb, I was awestruck! If I thought Survivor in Death, Innocent in Death, and Treachery in Death were my favorites, Shadows in Death knocked them out of the box.

And let me not even get started on the love between Eve and Roarke and the love her entire team has for them both!

This book is outstanding from word beginning to word end!

WELL WORTH THE WAIT ON THIS ONE!!!!

I would say that this is the best in the series but that's an impossible statement. THEY ARE ALL GOOD!!! Susan Ericksen contributes greatly to the success of this series. Thank you Nora for continuing to engage her as the narrator. It would hurt the series if you changed. Susan E. is one of the best in the business. I'm looking forward to the next release in February! Keep them coming!
