love the story. I kind of expected, although hoping for a different end. It is sad that you cannot really trust anybody completely. Of course you cannot expect the money to stay which you have not earned but just obtained.
Narrator is superb.
overall, a very good book.

Story
A summer at his grandparents' South Dakota ranch is not 11-year-old Cooper Sullivan's idea of a good time. But things are a bit more bearable now that he's discovered the neighbor girl, Lil Chance, and her homemade batting cage. Even horseback riding isn't as awful as Coop thought it would be. Each year, with Coop's annual summer visit, their friendship deepens from innocent games to stolen kisses, but there is one shared experience that will forever haunt them: the terrifying discovery of a hiker's body.

Story
Meet Ove. He's a curmudgeon - the kind of man who points at people he dislikes as if they were burglars caught outside his bedroom window. He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse. People call him "the bitter neighbor from hell". But behind the cranky exterior there is a story and a sadness.

Sweet story!

One cannot imagine that a simple life story of a simple man can be so entertaining and heartwarming at the same time. The writer unfolds what seems like a complicated character at first in such a sweet way that the reader is completely engrossed in the story. to add to that the other characters including a street cat make the story very much enjoyable. The conversations between Ova and Parvanah are very sweet. This story makes you cry and laugh your heart out at the same time. I actually had to stop in the middle of the street and complete my laugh over a dialogue between Ova and the cat, yes a cat, before I could s tart walking again. Towards the end Ova will make you remember you grand dad, a little strict but lovable at the same time.
The narrator is absolutely amazing. he makes you feel like you are actually living the story.
overall a fantastic experience!

Story
LAPD cop Scott James is not doing so well, not since a shocking nighttime assault by unidentified men killed his partner, Stephanie, nearly killed him, and left him enraged, ashamed, and ready to explode. He is unfit for duty - until he meets his new partner. Maggie is not doing so well, either. The German shepherd survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan sniffing explosives before she lost her handler to an IED and sniper attack, and her PTSD is as bad as Scott’s. They are each other’s last chance.

I am animal lover. I have read many stories involving animals. but, I had never read anybody talking from animal's point of view. The author has succeeded in bringing out a dog's way of thinking. it's absolutely wonderful. With a limited number of words at disposal, the dog is expected to think repeated words like "save alpha save pack alpha safe pack safe". I think this is closest we can ever go into a dog's mind.
The performance was perfect, with the squeaky voices, commanding voices, the story came to life. The story itself is very nice and engaging. I would love to read/listen to mare stories by the author.

it's a good lighthearted comedy. it started with a nice story but then became boring when the evil spirit Moonflower entered. I did not enjoy the sole part where she was present as it is so unbelievable episode with witchcraft and spells obained from internet.
I really enjoyed the narrator. she was able to create all the different characters with just a slight modification of voice. I will try to find more stories narrated by her.
overall an okay story.

Good story, excellent narration!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes. Very good story. It's not a typical fast paced modern detective, but a slow building, interesting story. It does not make your heart race all the time but, makes you think and ponder over the details.
What was one of the most memorable moments of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo?
"Think about consequences"!! It's amazing that a girl of about 20 doesn't react immediately, but ponders over consequences before taking any steps against her rapist. That is amazing maturity shown by the girl.
What about Simon Vance’s performance did you like?
Excellent narrator. He owns so many different characters' voices. I did not have any difficulty in identifying so many different characters with a special voice for each one.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No.
Any additional comments?
A very intelligent story, excellently narrated by Mr.Simon Vance!
