Story
Nicola is returning to her family home for the Christmas holidays to spend the festive season with her loved ones for the first time in several years. But she gets a shock when she discovers that there will be an unexpected guest joining them for dinner on the big day. Their elderly neighbor, Barbara, will be present at the table too after receiving an invitation from Nicola's parents because they hated to think of the old woman spending the day alone. That is a big problem for Nicola, although she struggles to let her family members know why.

I get this is a tough topic.. but it took 13 chapters before the story got beyond the main character eluding to bad things.
The story could have had more substance. Disappointed.

Story
It was four o'clock in the morning. A young woman pushed through the hospital doors. Staff would later say they thought the woman was a new mother, returning to her child - and in a way, she was. She walked into the nursery, where a baby girl lay sleeping. The infant didn't wake when the woman placed her gently in the shopping bag she had brought with her. There is CCTV footage of what happened next, and most Australians would have seen it, either on the internet or the news.

It’s not too often a book grabs me with such intensity… I’ve been listening to this one for the past 24ish hours. Not a straight 24 hours.. not that I didn’t try (had to sleep and people some). Not my typical genre either.. if you start it just keep going..it may take me a bit to move forward.

Story
Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier...more personal. When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

I enjoyed this story. Without giving the story away, it was pleasing to have Harry help someone again. ❤️
