Worst of the 5, but still good
Reviewed: 03-31-24
SPOILER: the first and third book were completely devoted to Hundir finding Love, but it escaped him. Again, 2 whole books! Then book 5 starts out with him in love…. No story about it. No background. Just he’s in love and she loves him back. A minor detail. Geez!!! Come on man! All of us are diehard Hundir fans and you start the book like it’s no big deal, he and Sigrid are in love?! Super disappointed in that.
Otherwise though still a great book. Narrator was fine, don’t understand the complaints about that. Just the story was the weakest of the 5 books so far. A great read but lacked the usual attention to detail the other books have.

Book 4 is Amazing!
Reviewed: 03-02-24
Hundr is finally becoming the one. The one Viking to slay them all! In books 1-3 we saw glimpses of him being ruthless but now in book 4 he has truly embraced being a Viking. This whole book is him being the Viking we all wanted him to become and fight not for revenge, or trying to stay alive, but for glory and treasure!

Book 3 And Keeps Getting Better!
Reviewed: 02-17-24
Not sure how this author still makes you love and hate all these characters but he does! Hundr makes foolish decision after foolish decision. I’m hoping book 4 and beyond stops with the petty annoying woe is my crap that the author keeps doing to Hundr but overall his adventures and brutality on the battle field keep me griped. Keeps you guessing too. Love the series. Already bought book 4!! Keep them going!

I know there are 6 books in this series and I couldn’t stop listening to the 2nd book. I think from the first book we were all wondering when Hundr would become the Viking we all know he will one day become. I don’t really like the wall flowering of him wanting to be a supervillain Viking versus a lover and feels remorse for everyone. I’m hoping now all that foolishness is gone, and the rest of the series builds up his legendary status.

The Real Sequel to TV Show Vikings
Reviewed: 01-27-24
For all fans of the tv show “Vikings” this book will fill your addiction! From start to finish it reads like a script rather than a book. Just about all places, persons, and bloodlust will be familiar. Northumbria, Lothbrook Sons, Odin, etc.
It’s really good! I wished they would have done a better job to explain some things, which I won’t spoil for anyone. But overall this book will keep you entertained and wanting more for all true Viking fans!

Story
Over the last decade, a single innovation has massively fueled digital black markets: cryptocurrency. Crime lords inhabiting lawless corners of the internet have operated more freely—whether in drug dealing, money laundering, or human trafficking—than their analog counterparts could have ever dreamed of. By transacting not in dollars or pounds but in currencies with anonymous ledgers, overseen by no government, beholden to no bankers, these black marketeers have sought to rob law enforcement of their chief method of cracking down on illicit finance: following the money.

Story
In AD 793 Norse warriors struck the English isle of Lindisfarne and laid waste to it. Wave after wave of Norse "sea wolves" followed in search of plunder, land, or a glorious death in battle. Much of the British Isles fell before their swords, and the continental capitals of Paris and Aachen were sacked in turn. Turning east, they swept down the uncharted rivers of central Europe, captured Kiev, and clashed with mighty Constantinople, the capital of the Byzantine Empire.

Not a story, but a timeline
Reviewed: 02-28-23
This is simply a history book. I am only saying that because I thought it was going to be a book about Vikings and their conquests but in reality it wasn’t. It’s their timeline. Explains the origins and ends to Vikings worldwide. So if you’ve heard of Eric the blood axe or Ragnar Lothbrook etc, you will hear them here but for a few minutes a clip.
I recommend to anyone wanting to hear the history of Vikings and wanting to learn fact. Narrator did a good job. Learned so much about them and their history which was not my intent when I downloaded this. Highly recommend to Viking fans.

Very good sequel overall. The first 3/4 of the book were so good I couldn't put it down. However the last part of the book seemed to just drag and drag. There was so much build up for that final chapter and I was not impressed with how quick the final scene played out. Overall very good and can't wait for the final book.

Great book and recommend for anyone looking for some sci do.
