Being a teen witch is no sitcom with canned laugh tracks. It's especially hard when your crush's family is old school burn the witches at the stake type. Leah decides not to mention her membership in the black hat society if it will score her points with Dylan. If only life was that easy. Best friend Stella pulls her in to a tolerance project that tests Leah's beliefs by sending her hurtling through time where people really do burn witches. If that isn't enough, everyone back in times old and smelly recognize her as the local mean girl.

I did the audio of this story of witches, magic and learning what it means to grow up with this secret! All of the characters come alive with the wonderful narration this story has. Very well researched and when you hear the way the story is written plus putting voice to the story it is just brings everyone alive and I think with the narration it makes the story much more exciting as the story progresses and the way that the story is written. You go from the present to the past and It's done very well where you don't get confused at all! Whether you read the story yourself or the audio, don't miss such a fantastic story. This is a series,so off to the next book! Try both ways, read and then the audio, you will see what I mean.

This author "Shaylin Gandhi" has never failed at her books for me! This book was a little bit different for me. Instead of reading,I received a audio of the story. It really made the characters come to life! You hear the different voices, the impressions, it's so much better than just reading the story, hearing your own voice! This takes you to 1950's when women were suppose to know they're place, get married have children and be happy! Not for these two women, they want a career in a man's world! Racial discrimination you also have during this time and it has you see that side of the story! Very well researched and written! It is a must read or audio,it just makes the story come alive!Kimberley does a fantastic job in the narration, you will not be disappointed in the narration or in the story!

Treasure Cove is a crazy place to grow up. Especially for an 11-year-old girl like me. You see, my father is a police detective. And my mother is an amateur sleuth. It's safe to say that I've had a wild upbringing. And things are about to get even weirder. You won't believe what happens next.

This was a really good book,I am from Charleston S.C. So a lot of these places in the book I knew of and it was like I went home, even not,you will want to! I don't read a lot of crime-murders but to me this was fantastic! I was given the audio of this book to listen to after I had already read the book and the narration of this storytelling it's like you are sitting being told a story and can see everything that is going on and Gene, the narrator makes it so real! The different parts of the characters in this story, they were done so well it's like you actually begin to know the characters! Read the book or listen, but either way you won't be disappointed!! It has humor in it even though it's a murder mystery, you will see what I mean when you either read or listen,it's in All the right places! Reading the book, then listening,I heard so many parts that I had missed by reading, so I'm really glad I was given the chance to listen to the audio. Gene did a "fabulous" job in the storytelling and that's what your looking for,a fabulous story that was written to tell!🙉🙈🙊. Understand there is another book coming of these two old friends, these detectives who don't take any nonsense from criminals,I know I dont want them coming after me!!

Joseph, a master craftsman and carpenter, stokes the ire of his family when he weds his pregnant (and seemingly unfaithful) betrothed, Mary. Pious, devout, and guided by the dictates of Heaven, Joseph has no issue with taking Mary - who still claims to be a virgin - as his wife and committing himself to the protection of her child, whom he senses is extraordinary. However, there are others who are also aware of how special the child is, and not all have its best interests at heart.

I love listening to these small town murders, the characters come so much alive when you listen to the story this way instead of just reading. In this narrative story, the reader shows a lot of emotions in the parts.Only thing I suggest is you find a man to do the man's part and if that is a man,the voice is to deep,it just feels like it's fake.
